Making LOTS of banners quickly, not one by one by one.....

Using Photoshop/Bannermaker/whatever I totally get how to make variations in banners. But it seems one needs to make dozens every week if you have several campaigns going and you keep cuttting out and replacing losers.

How do you get in the zone and come up with ideas (and not get bored) making dozens of banners every week?

Thanks.

you can obviously try significantly different styles but there are many other areas to test. take the best performing banner and try different colours, images left instead of right, different headlines. try and change one variable and then create a load of new banners from that so you have one change to test.

Yep - just play around. Try changing colours, try changing fonts, move elements around, sit and brainstorm ideas for 10 minutes then just try all of them, etc.

creating banners is a pain- but if you take your time when setting up your graphic files you can speed up the process.

What I do:

First I create a new PSD file for each banner size. Then I start from the bottom- Create a Background folder and fill this up with a multiple background images which wont distract from the rest of the message. Next Create a Image Folder and repeat with as many different pictures you can. Then a text folder with SEPARATE layers for your text groups.

Now that you have your 1. Background 2. Images 3. Text you can mix and match the elements to create multiple creatives without much effort. The longer you spend filling your graphic file with creatives the easier it will be to create your banners.

Let's look at the numbers:

4 Backgrounds
10 Images
10 Text Variations

4x10x10 = 400 possible variations

Make sure to Save For Web and reduce the Quality in order to reduce file size.

1. My service CrazyCTR(signature) for style variations, borders, effects etc. I'll do a relaunch soon that will have some awesome features to create the banners.
2. I had some PSD templates(I post here if I find them) with the most used formats, that you need to make just some little changes to create different banners
3. Make your own process and go to oDesk. Find there some Philippine guys that are cheap but knows a little bit of design and pay them to search for the images, do variations, style the text, put different angles together...basically follow your process. You can do that for landers too.

Photoshop actions FTW Streamline your process and set PS to do batches for you. It mostly works for static banners though.

Outsourcing FTW

There are lots of ways to automate banner creation in PS but if you need tons of them better just hire someone to help you. This way you can focus on more important tasks.
