Ok guys, just finished reading getting started guide from caurmen. It was very useable and probably I will read it for like 5-10 times the coming weeks.
So before I start my first campaign, I got some small questions who I really would like to be answered before I start my campaign. I am using POF for my first campaign.
I already 'spyed' on some others ads. I made a lot of notes of what ads are succesfully now and I want to try and combine them. The angle for my campagin will be 'Do you need a smoking nice looking girl? - What do you guys think about this 'angle'?
So I found already 10 images, dunno anything about copyright. I do know that it are not celebs and it are just normal pics of people on twitter or something like that. Some of them are looking in the camera some of them are looking to the ground. I know there will be people who copy-cat the pictures, but I am learning for now so I will add them in the attachment, can you please tell me what do you think about them? Remember its my first time, and I would like to know from people were to look for. It are alle amateurish pictures.
Then my third question. I read alot information about picking an offer. I chatted with the manager from A4D. He told me 3 offers and I think i am going to choose for mate1. Also because in the getting started guide they also mention mate1. Problem is, I also read that your first campaign needs to be a low payout, something under the 1 dollar. Mate1 is paying 3 dollar 50 so thats contradictory. What is the best for me as a beginner? Taking a 3,50 offer or lower payouts.
Those are 3 questions that I would really like an advice from someone.
Thanks already for reading this and hopefully you can help me!

The photos all look amateur and worth testing.
As for your angle, you will want to work on ad copy - not necessarily saying "want a smoker?", but something along the lines of "a smoking hot girl" is much better.
As for the offers, I would split test all 3.
Low payout offers are ideal when running mobile and when we say low payout, we mean relative to the traffic source.
If clicks average at $0.50 on PoF for your campaign, a $1 payout offer is absolutely ridiculous.
For dating offers in general, you are looking at more like $3-10 payouts per lead. $3.50 is fine, it depends on how the offer converts compared to competing offers for your particular campaign. A $7 payout offer might do better, might do worse. This is why you have to split test - which means you will need to have an appropriate tracking system in the middle of it all.
Zeno,
Thanks for the quick reply!
So as I am understanding good, and angle is just like your ad copy. So let's say 'Smoking Hot Girls in USA' or 'Tennis Girls in USA' or 'Girls who loves to eat burgers'. Just want some confirmation about these 'angles'.
Allright I will splittest all 3 campaigns, so for my confirmation I need to set up this:
Campaign 1: angle: smoking hot girls, banner: 10 different images, offer: offer 1.
Campaign 2: angle: smoking hot girls, banner: 10 same images as in campaign 1, offer: offer 2.
Campaign 3: angle: smoking hot girls, banner: 10 same images as campaign 1 & 2, offer: 3.
So I set like 15 dollar a day budget to just find out which offers works best for me? So after like 2-3 days I payed 30-45 dollar for each campaign, so in total 90-135 dollar to see which offer is the best. Also I have some information about the images that works best. After that I will refer to this guide: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...he-Winning-Ads to see which ad I can remove and which ad I will keep running.
So I am just asking for some confirmation about my way of thinking. If this is the right way, I will start a campaign in the coming days.
Also for my ad copy. When I try the Angle of smoking hot girls. I think about these titel and text.
* A Smoking Hot Girl in USA * (Is it better to talk in 1 person or plural? I can change the country because I dont think starting out in the USA is really smart.)
Are you in 25+ and single? 1000's of hot Smoking Girls would like to chat with you. Click here! Join & view photo's!
as for targeting I will choose age: 25+, single status and living in the country of the offer. So this can vary each offer. Also got a question about that. If 1 offer only accept Irish people and the other 2 offers only accept USA people, is the split testing than subjectively? There can be many difference between Irish and USA people. So should you pick offers that are also on 1 country?
Thanks for helping me out already Zeno!
Angle is not just about ad copy.
It is the way you attempt to 'sell' an offer to someone. It is the specific problem, want or need that you are addressing and how you go about it. It is something that is present in your ad copy, banners, images, landing pages, etc.
Angle is a difficult thing to define because it is not tangible nor is it a physical thing you can see, touch or upload/edit like you would a banner image or a landing page.
As for your campaign structure, when I said split test the offer I mean on the backend i.e. through your tracking system - so users get rotated between offers. This is only done if the offers all allow the same country, so in this case you could rotate the two that allow US users.
Targeting Ireland will be a completely different campaign, though you can simply port your ads/landers over and see how it goes.
So, try your angle in the US first to get your feet wet and see how it goes. Just spend $20 to get some data and learn how the platform works.
Also, make sure the English used in the ad copy is correct - and use a landing page. Dating on PoF is not something you will find success in if you fly in half-cocked and direct link people to a broad offer.
Thanks zeno! I really appriciate your quick replys.
I am trying to understand the angle thing, its sort of the meaning behing all your images, landing pages etc.
I didn't know that you can rotate your offers in the backend. So I will split-test the 2 offers that can be targeted on USA people.
In the beginning guide they focus at the beginning at your CTR, so there is no lander needed. Problem is that I dont really like direct linking because its a niche in a broad market. I am going to dig in to some lander page post here on this forum to read an make on of my own. I think I should start with like 2 landers, should I split-test these the same as the offer, or do I need to make different campaigns like my proposal in my last post.
I am doing SEO for 2 years now, had some succes and still doing it but I like the concept of measuring all of my data. I am really motivated!
Thanks for answering my question, if I may run to some problems before starting my campaign I will ask the questions here if I may. Definitly going to start a follow me post for learning purpose!
Thanks again zeno
