2 GREAT VIRAL WAYS on How to Grow a Facebook Fan Page!

Some of your remember me saying I've started list building, well that was 2 months ago when I got started... time has gone by, and we're getting better at it every day...

I've assigned two dedicated people to our new 'social project' and they've been playing with facebook, pinterest, google plus, and twitter for the past 2 months or so, trying different methods and ways to grow our followers, likes, shares and interactions with the visitors.

Some methods have been more successful than others, so I will share them with you. I love giving back, so here's two awesome things you can utilize right now to build followers and traffic in a viral sense.

Method 1 - Take what has gone viral, and adapt it.

People already did a lot of stuff that has gone viral, I am a firm believer you don't have to reinvent the wheel, rather improve how it spins. So, this is what you can do:

Step #1) Head over to google.com, type in images that gone viral.
Step #2) Open a few of the links, and find stuff you can adapt to whatever fan base you are trying to make
Step #3) Fire up photoshop, and take the headline or the idea - modify it by putting your picture, or changing the headline, or both along the lines of the original.
Step #4) Upload it to your FB page, and see what happens - if your page has likes already, chances are this method is going to get your page even more likes, and plenty of shares. It works for our cat page about Siamese cats.

Method 2 - The Bragging Rights Method (Yup I made that up)

Step #1) Lets say you have a cat page like we do, about Siamese cats
Step #2) Look for other pages on FB about siamese cats - look who liked/commented -- open each person that has a picture with themselves and their cat as their profile picture.
Step #3) Head over to their profile, and look through their pictures - find the one you think is the cutest/funniest/best.
Step #4) Take this picture, upload it to your Cat page on FB, and write a cool headline for it.
Step #5) Send a private message to the owner of the picture, and write this

"Hey! I saw you have a siamese cat too!! Hope you don't mind but I just couldn't resist and had to post a picture of your cat on my cat page, because she's just sooooo adorable! Check it out by visiting my page, and don't forget to tell your friends about your cat being featured!!"

This 'bragging rights' method works wonders, in fact it's by far the best method so far that we've encountered. Why? Simple human physiology -- people love to brag, give them something they can brag about and they will share it with their friends on their own.

Haha, funny you mention cats. I don't think it is related to "bragging psychology" but mostly to cats.... People just love cats.

In fact, we are testing with some images right now on facebook to get likes.

1. product with photo of Adults
2. product with photo of dogs
3. product with photo of children
4. product with photo of cats

You can guess one time which one has the more likes People just love cats.

First tactic is pretty good though

Great tactics! If I may ask, what's the end goal here? Do you see the decline of organic reach being a problem come the time monetize?

For a great book on going viral, read Jonah Berger's "Contagious" (http://www.amazon.com/Contagious-Thi...dp/1451686579/) -- lots of great strategies on why things go viral and will give you plenty of ideas to try. For example, method 2 is a great example of the "Social currency" part of the STEPPS methodology outlined in the book

You can apply this to anything, the goal here is to build up a huge following, and get them engaged. That is why I employ a full time copywriter for the sites, and a grunt worker who does the uploading and managing the social profiles and finding viral images to adapt and doing other research and testing new ideas etc.

After you have around 1000 likes/followers for the page you can go into teespring t-shirts, shareasale stuff related interest products, etc etc , you can also do what I do give away a lead magnet and build a list -- I started this whole thing for list building purpose but it turns out you can also make money right away with a ton of other ways from it too.

Thx will check that book

btw we also did this with dogs and firebirds (yea cars) and the bragging method works every time the same way.
