I've been going through a TON of material (guides, threads) and figure I can read until my head starts spinning (feels like its already started) but the best way to learn is trial and error. I'm getting my ducks in a row here with VPS and applying to some of the recommended networks. I've only been approved at peerfly so far but apps are pending at neverblue and f5 and I plan on applying to couple more.
Now trying to decide on a traffic source. My budget is about $3000 to start and I can invest about $1000 per month for a couple months. My question is which do you recommend? It seems like POF has fallen out of favor a little. I see it's recommended in the guide but I see a 2014 guide will be released soon and am wondering if POF will still be recommended in that one.
I really don't have any preferences but I also don't want to choose a traffic source with a low ceiling, which sounds like POF has (unless this is just a common misconception).
My short term goal is $500/day. I also have a full time job so a couple questions concerning this: Do most campaigns require 12 hour days to become a success? Should me having a full time job have an impact on the traffic source I choose?
And, finally do many of these $2000+/day campaigns (like some seen in the success stories) require a whole team behind you? And is a team required to run these campaigns.
Thanks to anyone who is able to answer my questions. Sorry for my noobiness
Cheers!
$2000/day definitely doesn't require a team behind you. People have solo'd to $xx,xxx+ daily, it all depends on the sources/verticals/offers you work with, cashflow, relationships, etc.
Most campaigns don't require 12 hours daily work to be successful but you need to put in time to making creatives, landers etc. and getting campaigns live.
In this respect, those who dedicate more time are likely to see more traction as taking action is the fuel that powers the AM truck.
However, don't let this hold you back. Dedicate what time you can but don't expect $500/daily if you only spend an hour a day on AM.
Given your goals, I'd say go for mobile. Adult is very competitive right now at the higher levels, and POF doesn't have the volume to achieve those goals easily.
Mobile's a great traffic source to get into whilst it's still fresh.
