Hi guys,
as you can tell from the question I'm still very much trying to get to grips with the basics. Could someone maybe advise me how best to use the spy tools to look at landing pages if possible? I'm not interested in the adult or dating niche.
At this stage my focus is on trying to concentrate on what landing pages should look like, and get good at creating them. Is it right to think of landing pages as just looking like “flyers” on the internet?
Thanks guys.
Hey, what traffic source are you trying to tackle?
Landers will vary a lot based on the offer and traffic type ( web or mobile ).
For FB you could check socialadsninja, for media buys / mobile whatrunswhere and for adult the stm adult spy tool.
Hi bbrock32, I'm thinking to maybe start off with Facebook.
How exactly do landers differ on the offer type? I'm thinking to start off with Web initially.. maybe mobile in the future. Could you possibly show me all the different styles?
You said socialadsninja for fb. Is this service better than lots of ads? I'm assuming these competitive intelligence tools are essential to cut the learning curve??
Thanks.
This is far too generic a question.
It would be similar to ask "what do websites look like?"
Your best bet is to turn off any ad-blocking plugins you have and just go exploring.
Hey Zeno, I don't use any ad-blocking plugins. I don't tend to see many affiliate landing pages.. I do see quite often ads which lead to some type of pitch on an optimisepress template/people trying to sell their own products.
Browse more sources. Think about where affiliates buy ads and looks there. Otherwise, use competitive intelligence tools e.g. SocialAdNinja, AdBeat, WhatRunsWhere, BoxOfAds, etc.
One (weird) tip: if you're planning to use a source like Decisive, check their ad planner to see what sites they have the most traffic on, then go browse those sites using a proxy for the country you want to target and Google Chrome's Emulate mode if you want to check mobile. You'll see plenty of affiliate ads then!
If you're looking to incorporate the "blend in" approach then here's a good website to see the new designs that are coming out: http://themeforest.net/
I notice that parallax templates are gaining ground. Those are the pages that when you scroll down, the background pictures change or move around in funky directions, creating a unique, professional looking effect on the page.
Op, this doesn't work for every offer but until you start identifying affiliate ads from the rest, it might help you out:
Go look at the final offer page of what you are trying to promote. Let's take a diet pill for example:
The offer page is going to have a bunch of facts and testimonials about that product. Find a specific bullet point/line/testimonial/ect of that vendors page and copy 5-10 words from it exactly as is. Something like "uses proven, natural weight loss ingredients that are ephedra-free" (you can also try this with the products name too)
Go to Google, type those exact words in with quotations, exactly like this: "uses proven, natural weight loss ingredients that are ephedra-free"
Then go to pages 3-6 on Google because chances are these guys aren't trying super hard with SEO and are running some type of paid traffic. Take a look at the sites. Look for links. Chances are they are going to have some links leading to the same or similar product.
You can then Google the same phrase, but add "wordpress" at the end as well, like this: "uses proven, natural weight loss ingredients that are ephedra-free" "wordpress"
You should be able to find several affiliate landers this way.
