What's the Verdict on GeoIP2 Versus the Free GeoLite2?

After going through MaxMind's product page I read that Free GeoLite2 is less accurate than GeoIP2.

Obviously, I'll take less overhead any day and every day....unless I'm gimping my data.

So I was wondering what the version most people here at STM use, and would the difference noticeably affect my campaigns if I opt for the free version?

Would like to cheap out on this one.

If you run EU traffic i would strongly suggest GeoIP2.

I take it that EU traffic is inaccurate then. Is there a reason why it applies to only the EU and not the US or other countries?

You can try Affkit.com they have GeoIP services from Maxmind and 12 other wonderful tools for $27 (Lifetime Access).

Here are the stats for both databases.

But from my experience geoip2 performs a lot better in Europe.

I just found the list a min ago. Appreciate it regardless as it's good to know going in.

Now I'll see if I can figure out the setup correctly following Caurmen's tutorial.
