I outsource making ads (templates) and LP code writing (cus i suck at it.) So all i have to do is Put the texts in my banners and upload/optimize campaigns. Pretty sweet!

hey thepeopleschamp.. thanks for your input.. if it is not too intrusive, can you share where you outsource this to? Like Fiverr or Elance? If that's okay with you buddy and thanks in advance.

I outsource a lot to the Philippines, I talk about it in my BKK speech.

You can watch the video, it's on the forums.

However as of recently, I have had much better success hiring people in-office compared to remote.

Don't get me wrong, remote if its' cheap its really good, but for more important stuff I prefer to outsource to people that work with me from the same place.

Yep, I'd agree with Besmir here.

In particular, it's much easier to outsource one-off work rather than ongoing work. Ongoing work, particularly if it's composed of multiple small tasks, is easier to manage if it's being done close to you.

(If you can't manage to hire someone in the same city, at least try and hire someone in the same timezone, plus or minus an hour. That means you can easily communicate throughout the day, have daily meetings by Skype, etc. )

Thank you so much for both your response @bbrock32 and @caurmen. Really valuable insights to a newbie like me. Appreciate it very much.

The part i'm outsourcing right now is landing page creation, trying lots of different things then i split test like a mad man.

I'm still running all traffic myself.

Optimization can be time consuming, and it can be easily outsourced if your have a set of rules that can be applied to your campaigns in a consistent manner. Not to be sexist but, I prefer women over men for this task, and prefer to go Philippines instead of India or elsewhere also for this. Women tend to detail oriented and follow instructions better and are less likely to snoop around your campaigns. In any case, if you decide to outsource, which I would highly recommend, it may be a good idea not to send your conversion data back to the traffic source for them to see. This would keep things a little safer for you. The other area that you can outsource is Design related work, ie banners, landing pages. That can be done but, try to utilize someone who knows how to design for high CTRs, not branded professional looking designs. Doing everything yourself will likely do nothing more than help you earn a minimum wage job in affiliate marketing. Outsource those tasks that can taught, and commit yourself to work on things that can churn out $ 50 -$ 100 / hour for your time.

@vp5005, did the stars on this forum (Eg the founders of STM) earn only a min wage by doing it all themselves? Dont think so. Unless, Stackman, Lorenzo et al, did you outsource early on?

Well as for Stackman, and Lorenzo, I dont believe they are the typical aff marketers, and I cannot comment on that as I do not know their own early personal journey. And in fact in the very beginning I would advocate doineverything yourself, so as to learn all the aspects involved around building and scaling a campaign. My point is taken from my own perspective in what helps when scaling campaigns and trying to get to that next level. If doing everything yourself seems to work for you, you should certainly stick with that.

I didn't outsource early on. I just focused on campaigns then fitted my skillet. Then once I had some winning campaigns under my belt I partnered up with people who complimented my skillset.

Skillet or Skillset? Never mind, if you're cooking up campaigns then either one works.

I did everything myself for many years, and just started dabbling with outsourcing last year.

BUT i don't recommend this and wish i took action 5 years ago with a fulltime employee.

I would suggest if you've you've made over $100k in the previous year with AM, then start outsourcing. It allows you to test more, which in theory will make you more money.

I just found a cheap PSD to HTML Vietnamese guy from oDesk.com and hired him a few times. If you pay 10-15% more than they usually make from other jobs, they will prioritize your jobs over other work. So i developed a relationship with this guy and now he finishes any LP i send in to be coded within a day usually. Also he knows exactly what my tracking looks like and everything so i don't need to be clear and explain everything in great detail, which is great. I'll pay about 1-300$ för a few landing pages to be coded, depending on how advanced they are.

As a few people said, while outsourcing is nice, keep in mind you need to understand and be able to do everything yourself first.

When you reach a point that you could do it yourself but it doesn't make sense financially that's when I suggest outsourcing.
