I've tested out PPS this week with mixed success. I'm at around 40% ROI which is nice, but as expected my revenue is VERY volatile.
Does anyone else push PPS in adult? I like the idea of not having to worry about getting bumped off the offer.
On some small campaigns which run on autopilot i do.
What kind of volume are you pushing? I guess if the volume is decent enough, there should be a lot less volatility in your ROI.
I've had a lot of difficulty with PPS offers on Adult, can run them for around $200 - $500 profit a day, but could never scale beyond that. The ROI just wasn't there for me. The key seems to be having your own/exclusive offer or payout.
I've been using PPS offers to figure out what actually converts to a sale, then I replace it with an SOI as similar as possible (possibly even the SOI version of that offer). It's been great for quality and getting unlimited caps on certain offers!
One thing to keep in mind about PPS offers in adult, towards the end of a month you may notice conversions/sales dropping, this is due in part to scrubbing from the third party payment processors when they are trying to meet their goals from Visa and Mastercard. This happens a lot less if you work with adult companies who run their own merchant accounts, it can still happen but the rules are more relaxed because they deal direct instead of through a third party. We own a large affiliate programme and have experienced this first hand when we put some processing volume on our third party processors.
Yes, I run PPS with campaigns in big ticket countries like Australia.
Occasionally you'll see a great AU offer blow up the charts (like Bangaholics, IWantU at its peak, Shagaholic back in the day), and these offers pay big in the $8-$13 range.
But when they die off, I find it much better to switch to a PPS offer than promote a US/CA/AU hybrid that only pays out $4 -- especially when the AU traffic is known to be way more valuable.
Quick update for you guys:
When I posted on June 5th I was a little anxious as I began promoting the PPS offer on the 3rd, received 3 quick conversions and then hit a bit of a lull.
I exported my daily summaries for the offer from Cake and charted out the cumulative conversion rate.
As you can see, as the month wore on and the sample size increased, variance decreased.
I can now "count" on a .23% conversion rate on the offer (from LP's).

Hope it helps encourage some of you guys to switch from PPL to PPS, it is much higher variance, but you won't get kicked off offers and will get rewarded even more for sending quality traffic.
