Before you promote the offer, you want to research who is checking
out the offer already - or so I imagine.
What are the best tools to find out about data on an offer's demographics?
Also, how do you use these tools?
Thanks!
Google
I don't trust demographics tools terribly much - their data is usually noisy as hell and quite unreliable.
My usual approach to researching an offer is to Google it - and not stop reading at the end of page 1. I usually keep looking until I get past all promotional material, and I'm into forum posts, blog entries, and similar things. That's where you'll find nuggets of gold both about the demographics who would want the offer, and the pain points and objections that you'll need to, respectively, target or overcome in order to persuade people to sign up for it.
If the offer has any forums or communities around it - games usually do, in particular - I also take a good long while reading through them.
Also, if it is a game for example then there is a player base. So, google "X game player demographics" or similar and see what you can find. Sometimes gaming companies release info on this.
Intriguing.
I've always used forums for keyword research in the past for SEO and
get a general vibe of what kind of content to write.
This makes total sense.
