Starting with mobile Decisive.is 100% Transparent Campaign

Hi Guys ,
I thought this is the time to move from PPV to mobile , I will focus on Desivie.is and after a while I'll add leadbolt as well .
aff network I'll use for the mobile campaigns : F5Media , MundoMedia , Clickdealer,neverblue and peerfly .
I got dedicated server with beyond hosting and cpvlab .

I really have 0 knowledge in mobile so I'll write and show here everything I'm doing in hope guys here will give me suggestions how to improve my campaigns.

I asked my aff manager in F5Media for top campaigns she gave me a nice list , I decided to go for
[WAP] Antivirus - MY - I wanted to choose offer with small competition: http://w.shoopadoo.com/my/virus1/

I have created 4 banners 2 of 320x50 and 2 of 320x250 :
2 of them (1 320x50 and 1 320x250) were something that they don't allow ("you got {4} viruses style") .
so I left with just these 2 :

http://screencast.com/t/gZy7MEmveOy

I know they are far from being perfect , especially the 320x50 (all the traffic went to this banner for any reason).

the offer payout is 3$ and I already have burned 20$
the campaign is direct linking , If I see the stats from F5Media I can see 200 clicks and 0 conversions that is possible ? this low payout offer with so many click and zero conversions ?
In the offer settings I just target the country (MY) and the device (Android) they ask in the offer description .
What else should added in my targeting?
You touch the Audience>Category option?

I clone the campaign to 4 campaigns :

(3458) [WAP] Antivirus - MY - Mobile - App

(3458) [WAP] Antivirus - MY - Mobile - site

(3458) [WAP] Antivirus - MY - wifi - App

(3458) [WAP] Antivirus - MY - wifi - site

the wifi-app campaign already have spent 10$
the stats are : 85K bids , 42K Won(48%),168 Clicks(0.41%),CPM - 0.23$ , CPC - 0.06

My next step was to make a new banners or a landing page (I have no idea how mobile landing page should be) but it is worth bothering to optimise this offer if I have spent 20$ and 0 conversions? any suggestions?

Ok couple suggestions.

The bids on MY are pretty high so you need to have a very good flow to be able to compete and profit.

This means you need to boost your CR and I would say a lander is pretty much mandatory.

Also start by bidding lower, adding some more banners ( animations help ) and also cutting bad sites / app fast.

Keep us updated.

The banners look solid! I'd recommend also testing different images on future banners - the skull and crossbones has been done to death a little bit at this point - but the central concept and layout is sound. You may also want to try to cut out a few more words!

Yep, it's definitely possible to get as few conversions as that - stick to the plan and let everything run up $15 spend before making any decisions. It might just be that wifi-app traffic sucks for this offer!

As bbrock says, do make sure to keep an eye on your campaigns and cut any bad apps or sites as soon as they turn up.

I'm in the same boat as you my friend! I will be watching closely

So strange , I did little bit optimisation to the campaign now the cpc is 0.01 I have created 2 landing pages for mobile the CTR is 10+- still no conversions and I have already spent 40$ .
I'm going to test more similar offers maybe there is a problem with this specific offer .

Hey mate,

One flaw in your thinking is picking this offer because you believed there was little competition. With direct linking I would strongly recommend you start with an app install offer.

^^ Thanks man I'm going to test 2 game install offers and see how does it goes .
By the way what is the best mobile spy tool you guys can recommend?

Whatrunswhere is the only public tool I know of that has some mobile capabilities.

It all depends on how far you push it. You cannot say they have a virus or anything like that but you can say they may.

^ They still get approved but I doubt it will last for much longer.

MY is competitive, just a heads up.

Overall i like your thinking of sticking to 1 traffic source and country, but make some of the changes recommended above.

Thanks guys , maybe MY is competitive but I have spent already 40$+ on this stupid 3$ offer I tried to make 2 landing pages , direct linking , 6 banners and I tried this offer from 2 different networks.
the CTR in the landing page and in the banners is good the CPC is below 0.01 but not even 1 conversion this is really weird :/ Just launched 3 new game campaigns convert on simple install , just direct linking lets see the results . 3 different games (1 UK , 1 CA and 1 AU )

Yep, there's nothing out there that does mobile spying particularly well right now. WRW is about it, and as far as I know it only covers wifi.

Whoever figures mobile spying out will make a lot of money - but given the infrastructure requirements, they'll need to have a lot of money to deal with them!

ok this is never happened to me I tried few traffic sources some of them were better some of them not but it never happened to me that I tried new traffic source and I almost spent 200$ without a conversion(tried 4 different offers from different networks )
the new offers I tried :
Brave Frontier - iPhone - AU ( tried 4 versions I played with the WIFI/Mobile/Site/App)
Game Of War - CA - Android ( tried 4 versions I played with the WIFI/Mobile/Site/App)
Game Of War - UK - IOS ( tried 4 versions I played with the WIFI/Mobile/Site/App)
Battery saver (no Maxis) - Malaysia ( tried 4 versions I played with the WIFI/Mobile/Site/App)

one of the Brave Frontier campaigns stats:
http://screencast.com/t/WSm4XQ2sIhN

What do you think is the problem I don't get it?

06-09-2014 07:26 PM #17 brainbug (Member)

by the way if I dig little bit I can see I got 120+- clicks from decisive to the Brave campaign I split it between neverblue and clickdealer .
If I go to neverblue repots today I can see this :
http://screencast.com/t/hcGyw4eii61

9 clicks to Brave offer and 8 click to "International Redirect - Gaming -> Brave Frontier - iPhone - AU" offer .
does it means I don't target the right audience and my traffic go to fallback? I think these clicks are me and the decisive team but I even can't see 50% of the campaign clicks :/

1. Did you use stock creatives for all campaigns? That would be the main source of this poor performance.

2. How many clicks of those 120 actually made it through i.e. what was your click loss %? How were you tracking things - direct linked to the network?

3. Not sure about the international redirect but those are likely real clicks coming through, not you and the Decisive team - I don't think they would have real bidhashes otherwise.

hi , thanks for your reply

I use stock creatives just for the brave campaign , I did direct link for all the install campaigns (last 3 games)
I use cpvlab for tracking , I want to check the offer url link with VPN but it doesn't working (I guess because I do it from my PC and I need to do it from the phone) how can I check the url is working fine?

1. Make sure VPN is in the right country.
2. Use a plugin for your browser that lets you change your user-agent to a mobile one - otherwise some of the links may redirect you somewhere else.
