So,
Ive been looking at vector graphics, but i have no understanding of how to turn them into something you can run on mobile/web (ie. gif)
How do you turn a vector graphics that looks like one big sheet of icons into a gif/jpg?
Love some insight.
Thanks!
1. Open photoshop.
2. Crop the icon you want.
3. Click "File" > "Save for web" select .gif.
no shit, wow.... Thanks! So thats how they are used... I thought i had to use illustrator and get into animation and what not..
Vector graphics just defines a type of imagery. On the other hand you can get vector filetypes like svg, eps, ai and these have to be opened by specific programs. E.g. Adobe Illustrator will open them and from there you can export them as different resolution PNG/GIF/etc.
Photoshop (the master of raster) will open a lot of files, though some are better opened and exported through Illustrator (the vector inspector).
ok, I guess that's what I'm talking about... eps and so files, how do u use them to make the animated gifs? opening and eps file is like one big set of gifs that are in diff stages of motion....
I'm pretty sure EPS files are static. Gifs have the ability to be animated. Maybe you can link to the file you want to use? I can be more helpful if I know what your working with.

How do i manipulate/use this? for example you open that eps file and just one big file... How do you make it animated?
It's a bit of a process to animate from that form if you aren't familiar with Photoshop.
I'd advise using this: http://ajaxload.info/
