Having issues with camp approval (decisive) - APK DOWNLOAD

Hi guys,

I have made more than 10+ campaigns... and they all got rejected...

the first 5batch was... due to APK DOWNLOAD... well that one was obvious...

so I look around and find another offer... and this time the offer is no longer APK DOWNLOAD...

so basically when user clicks on the banner he/she goes into GOOGLE PLAY STORE to download the app... sounds good?

but that 2nd 5batch got rejected again.. for same reason...

and this time.. there is a Hint!

Hint: Check your redirects for un-targeted user agents / geos to ensure that they don’t lead to direct APK downloads either.

so here is my question... why do they matter if the "UN-TARGETED USER/GEO" does APK download?

does that mean decisive will display my banner into "UN-TARGETED USER/GEO" ? aside from what I am targeting?

another question... if I create a lander in between... BANNER + APK DL OFFER... will this fix the the rejection?

so.. lets say the offer is APK DOWNLOAD... which is not allowed in Decisive...

so I will create my own lander... (which needs approval from AM)..

so the flow will be...

BANNER -> MYLANDER -> APK DOWNLOAD

will decisive accept this type of funnel or still not?

Their approval process is so slow... I think they are getting huge number of advertisers since that post by Caurmen...

Thanks a lot in advance...

I doubt Decisive wants anything to do with APKs regardless of how you get the user to them.

For the Google Play store... I'm not sure what's happening here but where do out-of-geo users get redirected by your affiliate link?

I believe that Decisive are cool with APK downloads provided there's a landing page first - in other words, no direct-linking of APKs is allowed.

@caurmen
Yep this is what I thought as well... but I didn't test yet... guess I will do it on Monday..

@zeno
if I target non-US country (which I should only get non-US from decisive) and my offer is doing INT countries...

Hint: Check your redirects for un-targeted user agents / geos to ensure that they don’t lead to direct APK downloads either.

so basically what decisive "HINT" is saying... that even though I am only buying/targeting non-US country from them... it is possible that they can send US country or any GEOs (untargeted agent/geos) ???

is this how to translate this HINT?

because from what it looks like.. (I am targeting non-US GEO)... which the banner click goes into Google Play Store (which obviously a landing page and not DIRECT APK DL)...

and the decisive STAFF has a US IP address... and my offer does not accept US IP... so my affiliate network redirected him/her to a new offer which could APK DOWNLOAD...

so my campaign got REJECTED...?

Yeah you're probably correct - is it just the auto-download (i.e. DL or page which auto-initiates download) APKs that aren't allowed? I had a feeling APKs were getting frowned upon in general but I may have blatantly misread something... somewhere.

I would hit them up here on the forums ( they are members ) and ask for more info on what's the issue.

This way you wouldn't have to guess and waste your time.

I did not very carefully read the thread so someone might have already suggested this.

Tell your AM at your affiliate network to turn off any redirection to any catchall campaigns. Just say you want a blank screen or 1 particular campaign the be the redirection-goal of your spill clicks. So if you're running an app install (google play) in your targeted country A and someone from untargeted country B clicks your ad (which happens on most networks) doesn't end up on some DDL APK or some way more scammy thing.

In Cake, AFAIK, they can't set a redirect profile for a specific offer just for you, so you can get situations where an AM simply won't change the global settings for an offer...

One solution is for them to make a duplicated, private offer for you so that the redirects are personalised.

I'd be interested to know how much revenue networks actually pick up from out-of-geo catch alls. They piss most affiliates/traffic source reviewers off and generally cause issues for us. If we have multi-geo traffic it's straightforward for us to do redirect on our end.

Anyone have any stats? 2% global revenue from catch-alls? 7%? 0.5%?
