Yo Fellas,
Quick question...
Running 2 offers, testing between two diff networks and the darndest thing happens...
network #1: lower conversion rates for both european offers
network #2: double conversion rates for both european offers
same traffic, same banners same lander, same offer, BUT the conversion rate is ~ 2x with one network than the other.... Both offers are being run with 2 big networks...
WTF would cause this???
Could it be the location of their tracking server to the offer?
Is there a difference in payout?
the one with the higher conversion rate had the higher payout if my memory serves right... but, I was going to get the same higher payout on the lower converting network as well
ust to be clear... this is the same exact offer on 2 diff networks
This question comes up all the time.
There are a plethora of things which influence the conversion rate your see.
1. The tracking system used by the network.
2. Tracking latency. How fast does the user get from banner to offer or lander to offer.
3. Brokering of the offer, i.e. how direct is it.
4. Shady things like shaving/scrubbing, both by the network and the advertiser. Advertisers history with network...
5. Different landers, even backend coding when there is no perceptible difference on the page.
6. Backend funnel may differ between networks.
7. The current position of the moon in relation to the tree outside.
8. How many clicks have been sent... is the difference repeatable and convincing?
several thousand clicks... and it's almost double the conversion rate, so yes it's noticeable and perceptible.
should I tell the network about it?
Sure. Ask your AM what the average conversion rate is and tell him you are getting double the CVR on another network using the same lander.
singleoptin versus doubleoptin?
pin submit...
Here is the same exact offer on two diff networks over the last 3 days... Same traffic, same landers, same everything... the offer with the 1.48% cr is the one with the higher payout....

Is the CR something you can play around with in the backend of cake/hasoffers? Up the payout but lower the cr?
Cake has a queue function which lets AMs review and approve/discard leads. I'm not sure if these show up as conversions in your stats before they make a decision but if this function is on for a campaign then you can definitely get leads scrubbed from you.

I personally don't go by epc or conversion rate, its the revenue. Some networks shave clicks makes it look way higher then it really is, some don't show double clicks etc highest revenue is the main goal anyway
