holy shit... I just realized there is a "transparent" option in google image search..

this maybe a noob tip, but I have always searched for png's by adding png to the search query... I just noticed in 'search tools' under 'color', there is a transparent option that pulls in all .png's with transparent backgrounds.
hope this helps somebody

Not to blow your mind away but this has been out for well over a year.

You can also filter by animated gifs, line drawings, public domain, face shots, etc. etc. etc.

Just pick the relevant options here http://www.google.com/advanced_image_search

Awesome tip! I was doing the same thing aswell, by adding PNG in the query.
