Hi Guys,
So, I was just going to ask random questions on different posts, but decided to do a follow-along for my campaign. My AM advised me to do 'Marvel Heroes' right away, as the publisher who was sending in 500 leads a day stopped, because of budget problems and he found a more profitable campaign in mobile. The AM sent me a bunch of screenshots of the affiliates progress with the game, and it looked really good. So, I decided to really get this one going, and get those 500 leads per day on Facebook, but have been having trouble optimizing anywhere close to that with a profitable ROI.
Game: Marvel Heroes (register/download opt-in)
Payout: 1.26
Leads: 500/daily
Budget: $100-$200/day
Traffic: Facebook
Tracker: Prosper202
For my test campaign, I tested 25 images, and found 5 that perform very well. I decided to test the age next.
Target:
-US
-Males
-Age:16-24 and 25-32 (I got this age number from the game (Marvel Heroes) forum, I asked a few questions on there, and the highest I found was 32, and lowest is 16)
RESULTS: Of course the age 16-24 converted A LOT better! 6 conversions vs 0 conversions
Spent: $20
Conversions: 6

Next, was to test interests. (I researched games similar to the Marvel game, took a lot of time doing that, and decided to split test the interests I had used initially.)
Here are the interests I was split testing,
Interests 1:
-DC Universe Online
-Marvel Superhero Squad Online
-Marvel Superheroes (video game)
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
-Lego Marvel Superheroes
Interests 2:
-Spiderman 3 (video game)
-Marvel Vs Capcom 1
-Marvel Vs Capcom 2
-Marvel Vs Capcom 3
-DC vs Marvel
RESULTS: Interest 1 performed well, 6 conversions vs 1 conversion
Spent: $20
Conversions: 7

So, now I'm stuck! My campaign isn't close to being profitable and I'm not sure if it's the interest, or the game itself. My audience volume is 260k. My CTR (0.132%) is pretty good, and I'm paying an average of .26 CPC. I can get it lower if I run the campaigns longer. Should I test LP vs Direct? My angle and headline is, "What Superhero Are You?" Last night I tested different headlines, and still didn't get any different conversion rate.
I am currently direct linking, here's the offers LP, [OFFER URL TO GO HERE]
Sorry if my follow-along is confusing. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Should I maybe split my interests even more? New images? New headlines? I was thinking maybe of doing that. Today i have 49 clicks and ONLY 2 conversions. What in the world is going on??? This is after I "optimized" my campaigns. The game actually has good reviews and is fairly new. I feel like the market is there, but not sure if Facebook is it for this game...
...also, I was thinking of having a lander, which would have a bunch of superhero characters, and you click the hero you want to be and it sends you to the offer? What do you guys think? Since that's kinda my angle.
Sorry, for all the posts.
Yes try a lander. You may also want to try targeting some interests that are similar games in terms of being client-based MMOs - people who play e.g. Aion, Tera, etc. may not like DCUO or Marvel Games on FB but they may very well like DC/Marvel comics! Most guy gamers do...
Also, post the offer URL, not your affiliate link. I've edited the post for now (not wise to reveal your affiliate links for the world to see!).
Whoops! Thanks Zeno for getting back to me and fixing the link. I tried a basic lander, and got a huge spike in conversion, double then before, but still not profitable, ALMOST though. I'm going to work on the lander, but does anyone know of a php script that does like a quick survey then auto directs to offer?
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...r-Your-Landers will let you set up a survey on your lander!
