Whats up with this 'Voluum' instead of STM mobile Tracker?

Hi guys,

Yesterday I finished reading a ton of follow allongs, it kind of made me dizzy ;-). It is going to be a hard road, but very doable.

Anyways, I read that most mobile fans use Voluum instead of STM MOBILE TRACKER?

Why is that? Because of the easy trackable duplicates?

Thanks.

STM Mobile = self hosted (you need your own server, you need multiple servers to counter high latencies .. ping times)

Voluum = one tracker, no need for server, in the cloud so you can get low latencies no matter what -- TIP: this allows you to buy CHEAP global traffic, setup redirect rules, and send them all to the proper offers and capitalize

I edited your thread and post because it is "Voluum", not "Valuum".

There are many different tracking systems out there - CPV Lab, Prosper202, the modded P202 from the forum, iMobiTrax, Voluum, Mobit, BevoMedia, etc.

Some are self-hosted, others are cloud-based. Some are one time purchases, some are subscription based.

If you don't have an can't deal with a VPS/server then Voluum is ideal but it won't be free forever. If you are paranoid about your data you may want to self-host. Additionally, if you are running serious volumes it is likely going to be cheaper to self-host your tracker. The functionality of each is of course another critical consideration.

Long story short, use the free STM-modded p202 if you want to deal with something on your own server, even if only for the experience. You could then use CPV Lab or iMobiTrax. If you want something with no setup required on your end, try out Voluum.

Since I switched to Voluum and entrusted Rob with our campaign data (har har) we've saved a ton on dedicated servers (we had one on every continent), saved a ton on per month tracker licenses, got rid of pingdom account, 3 VAs who were on call in case a server crashes to restart it, and we also can run more organized, and more efficient - all in one place

I just wanted to point out that Voluum will be free for users doing under 100,000 events/month in our new 'noobie' plan. http://Voluum.com/pricing/

Sure, events will include visits, clicks and conversions.

Hi zeropark,

so if there is a visit.. and there is a click.. and there is a conversion.. how many events are those? Are those considered 3 events?

some visit does not click.. and some clicks does not convert... so if there was only a visit... there is only one event correct?

Yes I would be interested in knowing this as well.

This has already been clarified in the main Voluum thread.

An event is an event.

If something happens, whether it is a visit, a click, or a conversion, it is an event.

In each case Voluum is tracking something that the user has done so it makes absolute sense that the initial redirect (visit), outgoing redirect (click), and conversion (postback + data update) gets counted toward your quota. Otherwise their revenue would depend on your campaign performance and that's a ludicrous business model.
