Preview mobile offers?

Hi everyone,

In the cpa networks e.g. mundo, neverblue, etc,

I noticed some offers I could preview the offer link via my windows's chrome/firefox while connected to a VPN (hidemyass) to a country specific.

However I noticed most of the times I couldn't see preview the offer link on my web browser. The page shows up nothing.

What is the right way to preview offer links for mobile offers? either app install via appstore/playstore, apk install, wap offers?

Is it because those offers are dead already? or I am not using the right way to view those offers?

Any help? Thanks.

Use an emulator or something like Keynote Mite on your computer.

Otherwise, try something like BrowserStack.

So if I don't use an emulator but a normal browser instead, the offers may not showed up properly?

I assume VPN (hidemyass) is still a must here right?

Thanks.

If the offer has geo redirect you will. It really depends on the offer, if you want to see what the user is going to see just use both.

Use a proxy / vpn to match the country of offer and the "User Agent Switcher" plugin for firefox.

For browserstack, that's look good.

But do I still need VPN with browserstack too?

You can't use a VPN with BrowserStack.

If the affiliate URL or offer geo-redirects you then you'll have to use a VPN and something on your computer.

User agent switcher works well, as bbrock pointed out. No need to use browserstack unless you're developing landing pages.

I've seen other affiliates install Android OS on their computer using the SDK, allowing them to download a shitload of apps and spy on ads that way (if you don't want to over-run your phone this is a good idea).

Beauty, I've been doing this a little differently and never had an easy method.

Oh right, so most mobile offers just use user-agent for redirection? That makes sense, here I was thinking they would do something more intricate.

Nothing else can really be done. Some carrier-only offers can restrict based on carrier IP ranges, but I haven't found any offers that do this... screen-width checks are at the rendering stage and would also be easily circumvented by resizing the browser window (have not seen offers that do this).

You can easily emulate any of mobile device in Google Chrome Canary. This feature also available in latest version of Chrome.
Just open Developer Tools (Ctrl+Shift+J in windows or Cmd+Alt+I in mac), press Esc and choose Emulation tab. You can choose what emulate (Device, Screen, User-agent, Sensors).
Really helpful for testing mobile offers or landings and you dont need any other software or resize browser window.
