"Your account has been flagged for unusual activity" - oh lovely!

feel like i popped my cherry.

was in FB

refreshing the ads manager.

then see this message at the top "Your account has been flagged for unusual activity"

oh fun.

I fill in the form.

Nothing payment wise has changed.

FB took money out last night.

Filled in the form, added my ID.

got this message back:

Hi Dave,

Facebook is committed to presenting ads to our users that are useful and non-intrusive, and we are continually working to increase the relevance of ads. Our goal is to provide the highest quality user experience. We reserve the right to reject any advertising that we deem contrary to these objectives. Similarly, we reserve the right to close an account creating ads contrary to these objectives.

For this reason, if any of your ads have been removed or your ad account has been disabled, we will be unable to reactivate either. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please consider this decision final.

Thanks for your understanding,
Charlie

Here's the thing.

I'm not cloaking.

I'm not doing anything sketchy

I'm running a fucking GOLF offer for gods sakes.

golf.

and I got banned.

Ran a teespring campaign the other day, but had no sales, so nuked the campaign.

The ONLY thing I think of, was that I started using bleupages last night for a test on a video ad.

that was the only thing different.

baffled

FB recognises traditional affiliates, meaning you might be a company affiliated with a third-party company (the client). They don't recognise little affiliates that have their fingers in ten pies (or in this case two).

One account per niche if you want to keep your accounts for a long time. Now, if the tees were golf-related you might have a case; good luck with getting the account back.

its strange i used bleupages last night and today have issues.

thats the only thing I can think of.

the tshirts were nuked days ago.

i'm going to be a fucking nudge to them until i find out wtf happened. :-)

Oh, bleupages... didn't they also have an issue with non-compliancy? I think they were violating some FB policies. Definitely find out what happened and maybe don't mention bleupages to them.

I suggest you email them and explain that there seems to be a misunderstanding.

I got flagged during my first few weeks.
My best guess was because of the auto download Landing page. or The geo redirect "survey lp" which has a very red WOT rating.

Here was the email exchange.

I got two emails simultaneously.

Hi Dan,

We typically disable an account if too many of its ads violate our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines.
Unfortunately, your Facebook Ads account will not be reactivated and you will be unable to continue advertising on Facebook.
We appreciate your understanding.
Thanks,

I was bummed but decided to email them.

Subject: Why were my ads disapproved?

What was your ad disapproved for?: Image
Please describe your question related to your ad that wasn't approved (required): Hi!
Hope you are well. There seems to be a misunderstanding.

The ads were disapproved and it says "Your ad wasn't approved because its content violates Facebook's Ad Guidelines."

I think this was thought to be selling of firearms?
Duck Hunt is an old Nintendo Game where you try to shoot ducks while it's flying all over the screen. Dog snickers when you miss.

Let me know if this works out.

Thanks!
Got a reply within the day:
Hi Dan,

I've forwarded your message to the team best able to address your question, as our team isn't able to answer your specific inquiry. Thank you for your continued patience.

Then I got this the following day:
Hi Dan,

Your advertising account has now been reactivated, and you should be able to manage any existing ads and create new ones.

If you have a campaign that's currently paused, the ads within the campaign can't be restarted until the campaign is active again. To activate the campaign, first click on the name of the campaign that contains the ad you'd like to restart. Next, click the "edit" link next to "Status: Paused." Then, select "Active" from the drop-down menu and click "Save." You should then be able to resume each ad individually.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks for contacting Facebook,
Sally

All I'm saying it's not the end I managed to do it and my spend wasn't even exceeding $20/day during those times.
Try it out man. Good luck

At least it was not Bob that replied to you.

On a side note, what redrummr comes to mind now. My last FB account was actually legit, for a small bizz that my sister owns.
I was creating ads for promoting her bizz and all was fine... until I tried an ad for another niche, Instant-Ban!

No worries. Happened to me to. And they haven't even sent me any email so far.

Strange as hell... but I've tried all the forms of contact and nothing.

yea sometimes Facebook banned accounts - no reasons.

07-05-2014 10:26 PM #12 xteesy (Member)

Don't use bleupages if that's the only thing that changed. IIRC they did have an issue with compliancy, might have been their scraper though so I can't comment on that 100%.

I've yet to have problems doing tons of cross niche promotions with my Facebook account, not sure why you think you have to have 1 account per niche?

IF you're compliant, Facebook could really care less. They prefer you to have one over dozens.

This is a coveted topic and no one will give away specific methods, for a number of reasons.

All I can say is, you will want to emulate being a real user who lives somewhere else to you (e.g. in the same city), uses a different computer, has different bank accounts and has a genuine interest in being on Facebook.

If you are running compliant campaigns then try making a new account being very careful to not link it to your old one.

If you are trying to tun non-compliant campaigns, frankly you'll be out of your depth.

Thanks, Zeno. I'm a little confused by the above quote... do you mean IN the same city, or NOT in the same city?

Consider this scenario:

You live in suburb A in New York and you need to make a new FB account that is not connected to the old.

You move to suburb B. You sign up to a different ISP. You go to a different bank and get a new account and credit card. You get a new phone number, new address. You buy a new computer. You use a new email address with Gmail.

You are basically in witness protection.

Now, how can you achieve ALL of this, at least from the viewing point of Facebook, without actually moving suburbs, changing ISPs at home, or buying a new computer?
