Reflow and Roboto font don't work together? (4)

Reflow and Roboto font don't work together?

I'm trying to learn Reflow. I've just got to the point of importing a picture from Photoshop, and Reflow has come up with an error.

It looks like it can't use Roboto, which is the font I've used in the picture on Photoshop.

I've looked into this and it seems that I can maybe get it as a 'typekit' (?) but these are either paid for or have restrictions if free.

I'm finding this very confusing. Does anyone know how to get Reflow to use Roboto? Or Droid Sans, in a pinch?

All help welcome, but I'm a bit of a software noob so I'd particularly welcome very clear instructions/help on this. Thank you

I'd recommend using the Typekit font whilst testing, then changing over to the Google Fonts version once you actually go live - you'll just need to delete the Typekit stuff from the generated HTML and add the Google Fonts imports in instead.

Let me know if you need more detail on this one!

Typekit appears to have restrictions on using things for free - inc. 25k limits on something important (maybe traffic?).

In this particular case the Roboto font is used within a picture. Will it be possible to delete the typekit from the generated HTML + add Google Fonts if it's a font in a picture rather than just a line of text?

Thanks for the help caurmen

If the Roboto font is inside a picture it wont matter.

If you have it as text it should load via the inbuilt webfonts in Reflow - the Typekit stuff is integrated into the Creative Cloud suite so just find it in the list available.

Once you are working with the HTML and ready to go live you can change the font to load from the Google Fonts store if available there.

Otherwise, the Typekit plans aren't expensive.... $50/year for 500k/mo page views.

Also, Creative Cloud subscriptions include this $50/year subscription as part of the service.

Also, make sure you install the Creative Cloud app which manages file/font/app syncing. Without it the Adobe apps won't access your Typekit account seamlessly.
