TrafficJunky interface improvement

Hi STM community.
A few months ago, we released a new interface with plenty of very cool new features.
If we had very positive feedback on the new features, we also had some negative ones on the interface.
At TrafficJunky, our goal is to provide a powerful and efficient tool to our advertisers.
Instead of doing some guess work and having it wrong, we came up with a very quick survey:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OD1...wzMew/viewform

Please use it to give us your feelings on the current interface.

If you have extra comments you want to make, you can definitely add them in this thread.

Thank you so much!

Anton @ TJ

Hi Anton, pardon me for my ignorance, but what are these New Features you speak of?

I have been using TJ for a year I have yet to see new features, the only thing I noticed was a Front-End redesign.

But I see the backend is the same with the same features (take into account I just do mobile traffic).

If the new features are just available for Web Camps, please ignore this message!

Anton, first thing you need is to go to exoclick.

Steal from them some things that advertisers need. Like:

when I come to dashboard, I'd like to see ROI more than anything. So which campaign fired pixel how many times... and what is cost per sale.

You are allowing real time bid increase, but why would anyone increase bid from dashboard if they don't know 1) roi 2) their position 3) top bidder 4) percentage of the traffic they are getting (ie opportunity that will arise with bidding higher).

Your interface is among worst in the community so I welcome changes.

With that said, you have some kickass inventory -- so can't wait to buy more easily

I cosmeivan,

I don't know if you had time to try out the old version of TJ.
We did add quite a few features, but the main one is the ability to target several spots in a single campaign.
Based on the feedback we had, we might not have chosen the most optimal way to select ad spots (and will be working on this).
The conversion tracking tool has also been one of the recent additions.
There are plenty others, some less visible than these ones (more in the back end I should say).

Any how, we are always opened to suggestions and we try to make you guys happy (and your affiliate life as easy as possible).

Cheers

Hi Testosterone,

I must confess that the changes you mention are among the ones we are hearing the most (along with speed and simpler campaign creation workflow).

As I said on another thread: The reason for this survey is to make things better. By this I do not mean "sometime along the way". I mean we are currently working on it (even though some changes might take some time to implement).

We are really keen on giving you guys a kickass tool (to match inventory quality ).

That's appreciated. Good job Traffic Junky!

Hey Anton, I have been running my old camps there, so I haven't created new ones. I was told by Warren or Jen last year that you would be implementing new features but it seems it took you quite long.

Bidding for multiple Spot with one camp is something I wanted, as long as I can place individual bids and see individual $ spent and CTR, etc for each Spot.
I will create some new camps to see this new feature.

However, some critical features you are lacking is the ability to target by Device, OS, Browser.

I mean, all my camps from TJ have to be broken down in two or more at my end, because iphones and androids perform too different.
Is a pain to deal with this, sometimes the iphone is giving me 100% ROI while the other devices have a -90% ROI...

Another nice feature would be to display how many impressions we are winning.. or available impressions for the day for each adspot.

I don't have to tell you that you have to work A LOT on your reports, just look at your competitors as Testosterone said, in the dashboard and then a set of specific reports. I don't even see Cost Per Click when I click camp statistics on TJ, this can be done in 5 minutes and yet is an important metric, otherwise we have to do the math manually.

I have more suggestions, but I will go on when I see new features going live (not by next year ).

I hope that helps!

EDIT: I don't like the TJ Interface for the time it takes to create camps, but WHAT I HATE MOST is that it logs me out every 20 mins!!! Come onnnnnn, as a rule the minimum for session time out should be 60 mins. We are doing lot of other things and when going back to the TJ window to find it logged out... this is a let down. Again, this would just take 5 mins to have it implemented.

Hi Cosmeivan,

No, it shouldn't take that long, it will however take some time, based on all the feedback we got, we plan to revamp the whole thing to make it simpler and better (hopefully).
In the mean time there are some things that we are currently working on (that have little impact on the interface and therefore can be done in parallel):
- Log out time.
- System speed.
- Stats.
- Device, OS, Browser, Carrier targeting.

Anton

Also keep in mind, your best advertisers are not that crazy about gazillion high-tech stuff, but simplicity - that they have all the tools on each page they land on. Not that they have to go 10 clicks to setup a campaign extra 3 to add time targeting and extra 5 to add frequency cap.

Also - roi on dashboard would kick ass.

Welcoming the change!

There is another thread with ton of feature request for TJ. If you take into account at least half of those request, we would appreciate that!.

I was uploading some ads yesterday to TJ, I went to the kitchen to get some food and after 15 or 20 mins I went back to TJ... oh boy I wasn't logged out! I tried again and it stayed logged in for an hour.

Let's give them 2 more weeks to see if they come up live with more updates.

As a matter of fact, this was one of the things that were already adjusted last week and pushed to live on Wednesday.
Talking about log outs: now you should never be logged out unless you do it manually or close the browser page.
If some of you still keep being logged out, please let us know.

The next issue to be addressed (work already started on this) is the speed issue.

Cheers

I just wish that campaign creation could be easier, either going by Traffic Factory's style, you upload banners once and you can use the banners that have already been approved towards any campaign. Because it truly makes no sense let's say if i plan on doing 5 websites and 2 placements on each to have the same banner being reviewed 10 times.
OR Do like exoclick where you just choose the sites by checking the box in front of the site and placement and you upload the banners ONCE per campaign.

Those are the best/easier/faster platforms. Anything besides that just makes no sense to me.

@the_professor : That's exactly what we are working on

06-09-2014 10:49 PM #18 cosmeivan ()

I still get logged out if idle for one hour or a bit less.

06-10-2014 01:36 PM #19 trafficjunky (Member)

Hi,

Thank you fro your feedback cosmeivan.
Does it still happen to anyone else? I'll hit up the dev team, but I'd like to know if it's still a general issue.
cosmeivan, can you please PM me your account name?

Thanks

logging out after 1hr idle - isn't a bad thing -- is it?

06-10-2014 04:35 PM #21 trafficjunky (Member)

True, but that's not how IT told us it should work

One hour would be fine, the problem with TJ is that the session just last for 20 mins or so. I thought it was fixed already

I'm sorry, you lost me...
is it somewhere around 1h or 20 minutes?

Thank you very much.

It would be great if you add some buttons to select a wider range of days for generating reports. Like 1-06-2014 to 11-06-2014.

06-11-2014 02:09 PM #25 trafficjunky (Member)

Hi blackmil,

I am not sure I understand your request...
Do you know you can adjust the date range to whatever you want in TJ analytics?

Cheers
