I am not doing anything shady whatsoever, but I'd like to get some opinions because I'd rather not find out the hard way that Facebook doesn't like something.
I want to advertise various articles linking to my site, and I want to email-gate them. The ad will make it very clear you need to sign up first. For example:
10 Proven Ways to Be Taller and More Handsome (sub. req'd)
Does Facebook frown upon email-gating in general? Will they not care as long as it is clearly disclosed? Any other thoughts on this method for generating leads, or lead gen in general? I am mainly looking for newsletter subscribes, that's all.
Facebook can be fickle about email collection but you should be fine if the vertical/content being advertised is compliant.
Obviously they might be a bit meh about a "10 Ways to Get Laid" article or get rich quick schemes, though I still see a lot of those being advertised with email opt-in pages.
Make sure to have a clear link to a privacy policy on the page per FB's requirements and you should be fine.
Thank you for the answer. And no it's not a 10 Ways to Get Laid or anything that was just a random example.
It depends.
I see leadpages.net pages go through fine all the time
