Monetizing CPI offers from Desktop traffic?

I'm optimizing my mobile landing pages (with mobile CPI offers) using SEO, and will predictably get Desktop traffic coming through. Clicking on a CPI app store link doesn't do anything in a desktop browser, effectively meaning that Desktop traffic can't be monetized with CPI. How do you guys monetize organic desktop traffic to your mobile CPI landers?

I'm thinking just scripting in a check to see if the user is on desktop, and if so just display a similar offer that can convert without a phone.

As you said, the only way is to detect if it's mobile traffic and if not redirect to a web offer.

Detection is quite easy with this script : http://mobiledetect.net/

You could always bridge desktop traffic by collecting the users email.

E.g. We have detected your are not on a mobile device. Would you like us to email you a link to this app to make installing it easy the next time you're on your mobile device? Enter your email below. *You will not receive any other emails from us by submitting here.

Or better yet, SMS opt in ... the open rates for SMS are an order of magnitude higher than for email, and you can be guaranteed that the user will be on a mobile device.

Oh, I like that approach! Given the price of bulk SMS you could also do this at no charge to the user... further lowering the barrier to getting that number in.

I think some iOS CPI offers on your mac should open the App store on your computer btw. Might want to play around with that.

If you open the android play store on a pc you can install an app and it will automatically install on your android phone, aslong as you are logged in on the pc. Im not sure whether it would fire a conversion pixel though?
