Popunder RON on Exoclick.......apparently, there are NO LIMITS

Today, I ran a small test campaign on Exo for Popunder Mobile traffic on RON. I set a daily budget for $20 and got approved and then it ran.....and ran. It blew through the $20 limit in about 15 minutes and it warned my that my daily limit had been met. But that apparently doesn't mean the traffic stops. I paused the campaign and it still kept running eating up my account. I deleted the campaign and it still kept running. I emailed exo and basically they said, some placements don't have limits.

WTF?

Finally, it stopped about 45 minutes later spending almost $130. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What's the point of the daily budget limit if it doesn't stop anything? I mean, what if I had 10k in there and went to sleep?

Same thing happens in TJ and other sources. If the targeting is too broad and the limit too low the budget will be reached too fast for the adserver to stop delivering impressions in time afaik.

Yes, due to fact how these kind of ad serving architectures work. Pausing/resuming ads is very costly for ad network. Updates are delayed because of humongous amount of data. It used to be same with Facebook, things improved a lot now!

Yep, it's normal with any big traffic source where you target too broad or bid too high with a small budget.

You can try asking for a refund and maybe get one.

Their system refreshes I think ever 15 minutes, so it'll spend for that 15 minutes until your budget is reached... so for example, if the system refreshes at $19 spend, it'll keep spending for the next 15 minutes until it refreshes again and then if over $20 it'll pause.

Thanks everyone. Basically, it "shouldn't" happen if the daily limit was bigger and target down a bit. The upside was instead of getting my first conversion ever I got my first 30. I just didn't like the fact I had no control over my testing budget.
