Google Inventory Media Buys and Ad Approvals

Even though Google hates the health/weight loss infoproducts with video sales letters I keep seeing banners like "5 foods to never eat" on the Google display network.

Based on your experience is it easier to get these kinds of ads approved when you buy Google ads through an exchange? Or is it a matter of cloaking/relationships to get them approved?

Would be great if someone could shed some light on this.

they approve such banners if you have a high quality website behind it (cloaked)
but also they like to flag your acc in such niches so you will get tons of reviews coming and often acc banns
so its a numbers game with weight loss on adwords

This pretty much. They enjoy huge daily spends, however the ROIs are smaller since they're super compliant. The main benefit for them is back end monetization and long term campaigns.

Wouldn't surprise me if some of those products we're spending $75-150k/day in the US.
