Traffic Vance Bidding Questions

Hey guys,

I have some questions for those that are seasoned with Traffic Vance and have good experience with it. I am having a hard time understanding how the bidding platform works. Specifically the ranking of a keyword, what is the best policy to employ when bidding up, how to bid up properly and effectively and also what "your max bid" does. Also im confused with the GOOD-MEDIUM-LOW-N/A and how it works exactly. I mean GOOD would be best, but what does each level do in conjunction with the rank placement?

I understand that a .05 difference can actually make or break a campaign if you have 100 keywords since this multiplies the factor by 100 if you raise all the keywords by that much. So is there anyone out there that can explain to someone like me what the best approach is to use Traffic Vance without spending too much and losing the shirt on your back? I've tried goggling the subject but I have honestly found nothing with any real significant value that explains properly how one can navigate TV and save on their advertising budget.

If anyone at all could take the time to explain to me, and probably many others how to correctly bid up it would be VERY much appreciated! Thanks in advance to any and all out there if you see this and decide to chime in to help out a noob!

Give it a few hours, lots of people will have been asleep

I'd love to help, but I'm no expert on the "old-school" PPV platforms. However, we definitely have people on STM with that knowledge.

The Max bid is basically the max you are willing to pay. However most of the time you don't end paying that since it bids only a bit higher than the second bidder.

So for example if you have a max bid of 0.05 and second position is 0.02 , your real bid will be 0.021.

If the second guy keeps raising bids you will end up paying a max of 0.05 if the guy bids 0.049.

If he decides to pay 0.06 you will be stuck under the 0.05 max bid.

As for volume bars, disregard that. Just bid whatever amount allows you to be still profitable.

Thanks bbrock,

So what I am currently doing is bidding the opening bid. I am ok with being even or second place and I see they turn from GOOD to MEDIUM. I dont want a bidding war so I just settle for second which still gives me good traffic. What is the best practice/method to actually bidding on keywords though? Is there anything special to it other then bidding what will make you profitable like you said?
