Hi guys,
I've just started my first FB ad campaign yesterday. Did 2 different campaigns, with 2 advert sets for a total of 6 ads.
I've set it to CPC, and target audience is about 5.6m people. The suggested bid is between 0.47-1.09, and i placed my bid at 0.80.
I have 6 ads running. 1 ad i started yesterday, and 5 ads i started this afternoon after reading the FB newbie guide about having duplicate ads, and cutting the ones that don't get sticky.
My 1 ad that i started yesterday has gotten about 11,000 "reach" so far, after about 24 hours, but the 5 that i started this afternoon hasn't had a single one. Its been about 2 hours.
My question is, how long do i have to wait on average, before it starts "reaching" out to people? My 1 ad that i started yesterday also didnt get any "reach" until about 6-8 hours later, i think.
Thanks guys
Regards,
Dex
It varies.
Sometimes they will get impressions within the hour, others will take 6-8 as you observed.
It is likely that your low budget makes the campaign a very low priority to get out...
If you want brand new campaigns/ad sets to get impressions quickly they need to be 'hungry'.
My advice: just be patient for now.
Thanks Zeno. By the way, does the CPC go down with more clicks? I mean, if I set the CPC max to the upper recommended limit, will it hit the upper limit at every click or is that something only fb knows.
I've set my daily budget to 10 for now per advert, is that a meaningful amount at all ? I was afraid if I set the limit at 10 per day and CPC at 1 for now, I can only get a max of 10 clicks at the upper limit ?
You rarely pay the upper limit.
However, it depends on what clicks cost for that demo... so you will pay as high as you've bid, some times.
If your CTR is decent the CPC tends to drop slowly as clicks come in.
Hi Zeno,
Ok the ads are getting some results in. The CTR for a 15000 reach is 0.04%, and the CTR for 1425 reach is 0.699%, 907 at 0.752%.
I noticed though, that i can't prevent people from clicking the "like" button which counts as clicks, when i'd rather them clicking the "shop now" button as I'm running a TeeSpring ad.
No sales yet, Sigh !
Yes most FB ads are inherently social so you need to take this into account... the available social actions can be annoying but also are the key to 'free' organic social traffic.
Are these all duplicates of the same ad? 0.04% is very low CTR. How many clicks to the other two have?
Oh and what ad type/position - RHS or news feed?
Zeno,
The other two (duplicates of each other) are currently 0.566% ( 2056 reach), 1.35%(945 reach).
The one with 0.04% (30,000+) reach.
The difference between the two different sets is the age group, and location.
Ok i admit, i got a little excited with the standard custom audiences and with my current settings, Im not helping myself with the elimination process as I've not set the perimeters in such a way that i can "funnel" the results into a winning combination.
I'll restart them with proper boundaries.
