I'm in the early stages of getting various POF campaigns running, and need to know what are some good tips/ideas when creating a domain name for my landing pages. I was getting prepared to sign up with pofpro.com but found that I need a domain first, which is fine, but want to ensure I go with a name that is advisable. Would you guys happen to know what I should look for?
If it's for tracking use something generic like endtrax.com for example.
If it's for landing pages (or both tracking and landers), use something simple but related to the vertical/area you are likely to be advertising.
E.g. if using dating, something like mobiusdating.com. Hopefully you get my drift from these random examples haha.
Thanks Zeno. Sorry for the newb questions but I'm still not sure what type of domain to get for my situation. I am in the process of buying POFpro and they are asking what domain I want it installed on. I'm assuming this will be for tracking only or should I be doing the tracking and landers on the same domain? Just not sure what the optimal setup is. Thanks
It isn't a big issue but I would have landers on a separate domain to tracking.
This way people don't see your tracking domain as often (less potential for script kiddies and idiots trying to spam you, login to your shit, etc.), and less chance of your tracking domain getting blacklisted for whatever reason.
Just get two cheap domains from NameCheap with the added WhoisGuard protection. I buy .pw domains because they cost something like $4.
So just buy derptrax.pw and epicoffers.pw and give them your tracking domain... then set up so that you host landers on the other domain.
