First mobile follow along after Caurmen (The appetiser) guide. ALREADY 1 CONVERSION:)

First thank you again Caurmen for your easy to follow guide.

Offer payout 0.45
Traffic Decisive
Targeting non english country
3-rd party tracking: not used (Waiting Caurman guide for setting up Voluum)

Made 3 banners with the same angle and different text size and colours.

Setting ads to

mobile+site
mobile+apps
wifi+site
wifi_apps

Launched the campaign. This are the stats in decisive after 1 hour

And this is from F5 media

1 conversion is the proof that i needed that this thing works. Thank you all. I have some questions...

1. I want to test like crazy now but i don't know where i received that conversion. I want to track this campaign but i don't know how to do. Also i will make a landing page but the big problem for now is the tracking. Can anyone set up the Voluum for me for a FEE?!

2. Also i see a different number of clicks in Decisive and no conversion and different number of clicks on F5 media and 1 conversion.

Thank you all

Nice nice, let it ride for a bit. Build up a LOT more conversions before you make any decisions based on your data.. 1 is not enough :P

05-14-2014 08:39 PM #3 zakariya (Member)

Stackam this is my first conversion so i'm happy :P

P.S I paused the campaign because the F5 link is not working for the moment

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

05-14-2014 08:44 PM #4 stackman (Administrator)

Looking into it right now it's 99.9% just a geo redirect, can you PM me the offer?

05-15-2014 07:54 PM #7 zakariya (Member)

I restarted the campaign and i have configured Voluum. I don't know if i have done it wright. I will put screenshots for newbies like me. Can anyone please help me?

So this is the offer link:

http://f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxx&c=xxxxxx&s1=

i have converted to

http://f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxxxx&c=xxxxxxx&s1=offername&s2={bidhash}

I put this link to Voluum offers

This is how i configured traffic source to Voluum

And then i copied the generated campaign url in Voluum and putted it to decisive and the postback url of decisive to Voluum campaign

So the decisive add is like this

And now i am receiving this statistics in Voluum

So, am i doing anything wrong or the setup is ok?

P.S I have 3 conversions to f5media but decisive and voluum shows 0 conversions.

Thank you for your help

4 Conversions and still not showing up in Voluum

05-15-2014 11:36 PM #10 ricmed (Member)

http://help.decisive.is/knowledgebas...uctions-voluum

the offer url on Voluum should be:

http://f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxxxx&c=xxx...=offername&s2= (s1 if you want to pass that to the network)

to get conversions posted on Voluum you should place the postback url on the network:

https://xxxxxxxx.trackvoluum.com/pos...payout=#price#

05-15-2014 11:50 PM #11 zakariya (Member)

Hello Ricmed.

Thank you

So the link should be

http://f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxxxx&c=xxx...=offername&s2= without {bidhash} ?

05-16-2014 04:57 AM #12 zeno (Administrator)

As Ricmed said, you should set up Decisive as a traffic source in Voluum as shown here: http://help.decisive.is/knowledgebas...uctions-voluum

Your campaign URL generated by Voluum, which you use as your creative URL at Decisive, should have &externalid={{{bidhash}}} in it.

This passes a unique ID from Decisive to Voluum. You then configure Voluum to pass this back to Decisive when a conversion occurs by having the postback set as win.crowd.io/convert/{externalid}, as shown in the linked article.

For your offer URL, you should have f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxxxx&c=xxxxxxx&s1=something&s2={clickId}

This passes Voluum's unique Click ID to the network.

Then, at the network, you add a postback URL to tell Voluum when a conversion happens, like this:

xxxxx.trackvoluum.com/postback?cid=#s2#&payout=#price#

When a conversion happens, F5 media posts back to Voluum and gives it the value you passes as s2, the {clickId} value.

Voluum then sends a postback to Decisive along with Decisive's unique click ID, a so-called external ID, which you passed through your advert URL using {{{bidhash}}}.

It's very much a 'passing of the baton' process.

Zeno you are a lifesaver. Thank you very much

I'm testing it now

Thank you again

Update

Everything is working now. Thank you very much. Now the conversions are showing in Decisive and Voluum. Where can I check to see from which add the conversion came?

Thank You again

Also I have selected only android devices in Decisive but on Voluum it shows that I have 24 clicks from apple. How can I exclude apple from traffic source?

Do I have to write all devices on Manufacturer option in Decisive beside apple?

05-16-2014 08:00 PM #15 zakariya (Member)

Decisive has sent me an email noticing that they don't see clicks from apple in their platform (because i have choosen android as os) but Voluum keep showing me this:

Is something wrong with Voluum configuration or with Decisive serving the wrong traffic?

How can i view the add id in Voluum?

05-17-2014 02:35 AM #16 zeno (Administrator)

If you have passed Ad ID then look at the custom variables in Voluum, available in the headers like Country, OS, etc.

In your second shot it looks like the Apple traffic hasn't changed much.

Could it be that you had an initial burst of iPhone traffic from a different ad?

05-17-2014 12:15 PM #17 zakariya (Member)

Hello Zeno

Thank you

Yes the apple traffic stopped (after i have talked with decisive)

How can i pass ad ID to Voluum? Also i want to split test ads. How can i do this from Voluum?

The statistics until now are:

Is this campaign worth optimizing or not?

Thank You again

Just keep following the guide, it tells you what to do once data starts flowing in The different sections of the appetiser are there to guide you.

05-18-2014 03:44 AM #20 zeno (Administrator)

Well those last stats are looking a lot better, i.e. much lower CPA.

You must be passing bidhash to Voluum since your tracking is working. You can pass ad ID of some kind with Decisive's macros, just look these up in their support. You may be passing something useful already.

I'm not sure what you mean by split testing ads in Voluum - you split test ads at the traffic source, then can just look at the data at Decisive. You could also pass a creative ID in the URL for each ad, so you can view them as custom variables in Voluum.

However, since they do no yet have custom variable drilldown reports, this doesn't gain you much over just looking at the banner-level data at Decisive.

Hi Zeno

Thank you.

1. Yes, i can see at Decisive which ads are performing well but if i want to compete 3 creatives against each other do i have to (clone) create 3 campaigns with 1 ad each in Decisive?
2. I created a landing page and i want to test it against direct linking but i don't know how to track it. How can i track the landing page with Decisive and Voluum?

Thank you

05-18-2014 02:09 PM #22 karim0028 (Member)

Nope, you just make sure you added Decisive as a traffic source properly with all its tokens like this http://d.pr/i/Y6CN .... Then just add all the creatives you want into your decisive campaign....

If you want to test a LP vs DirectLinking just create two paths in your Voluum campaign.... One with Landing page and one Directlinking

05-18-2014 02:26 PM #23 zakariya (Member)

karim0028

Thank you very much for your help.

I configured it like your screenshot.

When i create the landing page path in Voluum i put this link instalation.xxxxxx.com but it seems i can't track it....

05-18-2014 02:33 PM #24 karim0028 (Member)

How did you put the link?

Did you add it as an offer first?

Your campaign would look something like this

http://d.pr/i/Xse3

You have to go to the offer tab in Voluum and add a new offer and the correct country, so that it shows up in the pulldown menu within the campaign

05-18-2014 02:51 PM #25 zakariya (Member)

Karim thank you again for your help.

Yes, i added it as an offer..

And then...

Is this configuration ok?

05-18-2014 02:52 PM #26 karim0028 (Member)

yup that should be fine

05-18-2014 09:52 PM #27 zakariya (Member)

For tracking conversions...Do i have to put the landing page domain directly in decisive like this:

Or the offer link generated by Voluum like this:

05-18-2014 09:57 PM #28 karim0028 (Member)

the campaign link from Voluum

05-18-2014 10:08 PM #29 stackman (Administrator)

Whats your data looking like now, have some more conversions?

05-18-2014 10:19 PM #30 zakariya (Member)

Thank you Karim

Hi Stackman

This are the stats until now.

I have done some errors when starting and i have not tracked properly but i have more conversions. In total i have spent 78$ and in conversions i have $11.25 revenue

Craigm i started learning today adobe muse. It's better to learn some coding or this software?

06-08-2014 05:03 AM #33 zeno (Administrator)

Learn Muse for now. But you will have to get comfortable with tweaking the exported code in order to place pixels, change links, etc. If you want a truly responsive lander you will have to use something else, but Muse is probably the friendliest starting point.

06-08-2014 09:51 AM #34 iAmAttila (Veteran Member)

If you dont want to learn muse you can always outsource it cheap. 40 bux a lander and its all responsive and do the way you want.
