I've been testing a PPV traffic source for the past month, and I noticed that I'm getting dozens of hits from the same IP addresses. To be more clear, hundreds of individual IPs have sent 20+ hits each over the past 30 days. A few IPs have sent over 100 hits. Is this normal?
I have no idea how IPs work. I figured some multiples would be normal (such as users in a coffee shop or a hotel)... but figured that normally unique visitors = unique IP. This is web traffic, and my other web sources don't show the same behavior. Maybe a PPV thing?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
No that's not normal I've never seen anything like this before ... actually it happened to me only once loooong time ago to be specific with AdonNetwork.
could be spy tools, could be bots, could be somehow mobile users are viewing your pages... outside that, I'm at a loss for what else it could be
try blocking that on the traffic source, if you cannot block that ip on the traffic source setup a redirect rule and send it to some other page
