asia servers

hey,
i was at charlesngo's talk today and he mentioned "use dedicated servers" for mobile. then i went to look at angry russians gude and it says the same thing too.

i'm currently on beyondhosting starter VPS pack that also runs my tracker. i'm doing noob volumes atm but most of my traffic comes from Asia.

can someone give me some good recommendations as to what server packages i should use from what company? dont think i'm having the right configurations now because my redirects are kinda slow i feel, takes like at least 2sec to 4secs

Try digitalocean in SG or linode in JP, depending on your location. If you have higher budget, AWS or rackspace work well.

For tracking, Voluum works wonder as they have servers in SG

For tracking i would recommend dedicated server. VPS are good for distributed application.

This. Use Voluum + host landers on a CDN or get a server from DO in Singapore.

my plan is to do the Voluum + "________" combo. digital ocean/linode are unmanaged hosting, i'm nt capable of that!.
any other recommendations? i see that cloud solutions are highly recommended. but if i plan to use Voluum, i have no need for a dedicated server anymore right? VPS will suffice? sorry nt so good with the terminology here...

Follow what zero suggested, use Voluum for tracker and host your LP (must be no php) on a cdn. For LP, you can use rackspace or S3 + Cloudfront.

BH also has a cdn solution but I don't know if they have Asian servers. If they do, you can ask them to setup the cdn and use the cdn for your LP. The other solutions require some readings and setup.

You can view VPS as lower powered and cheaper dedicated server. Usually you need 1 for tracker and 1 for LP. But if your needs are not big, you can put both in the same server as what you are doing now in BH.

You could sign up with the Beyond Hosting CDN package if you want a simple option. Not sure what their Asia speeds are like, but it's very simple to use - just upload and go, pretty much.

i think my issue here is with the redirects, not so much loading speed of landers.
seems like i wld need a dedicated server according to angry russian's guide and charlesngo but i tihnk this problem can be mitigated using Voluum.

Since you're gonna use Voluum as the tracker, then you need not to worry about the speed of redirection. Just get a better spec VPS that is affordable for you as the purpose of your hosting is just to serve the lander.

When you start to profit, eg. 100-200/day, then you should shift your stuff to a dedicated server.

My recommendation is for those who has a tight budget. Voluum (free) + a better spec VPS (~$50) will do the job.

@kokofai: thanks alot!! just did that!

One important note here (although kokofai's absolutely right) - make sure that your VPS is geographically close to the location you're advertising to.

If you're advertising to Australia and your server is in the UK, you can be running your landers on an NSA supercomputer and it'll still load really slowly for your target market.

Guys, any specific VPS/dedicated servers company with servers in Asia that is reliable? I'm covered in US and Europe by wiredtree, need something for East.
