Hi,
Let's just say...
I have a campaign that is giving around 100% positive ROI...
how do you guys scale this up?
From my own point of view... if I spend $100... automatically I should earn $200 because I got a 100% ROI...
now with this mindset... I am ready to spend $500... "expecting" to earn $1000...
but this just does not work for me...
I have tried these:
1) I tried to raise my bid... my ROI goes below +50% (the conversion is tanking... while my spend is going up)
2) I tried to create a new campaign and put them in a new country... my ROI becomes (negative)
3) I tried moving to a different traffic source... (this also makes my ROI negative)
I am starting to think that... moving into a new country... (needs a new data/testing) as the people in that country responds differently...
and also moving the campaign into a different traffic source also requires data/testing... as the ads might be in a different rotation... (does not include the bids price ranges)...
I am also starting to think that my data is not that significant yet to scale the campaign...
but I have been running the campaign for around 12days... and I have been adding new banners and pausing (some not so good banners)... and I still get up to 100% positive ROI...
I just cannot get to scale the campaign up... well I can.. but the ROI goes negative or very low...
Any advice or ideas... is appreciated...
Thanks a lot in advance...
You've got a pretty accurate idea of how scaling works. Sometimes its easy magic moving from 1 source to another, but moving from 1 country to a new country is rarely an easy move.
When scaling to a new traffic source (same country):
The idea here is that your campaign will likely work or come close to working, but things will be different because you're advertising in new spots.
- Bring over the core concept of the campaign, but test anything that performed mediocre from the last source. It won't be a 1 hour port over to 100% ROI. Be ready to test a bit.
When scaling to a new country:
- This is completely different! Usually your core concept of the campaign/angle (banners/landing page) your using will work in new countries but be ready to test... New offers/copy adjustment/translation etc..
- A lot of the time it comes down to the offer when scaling to new countries. Certain offers just don't scale well to new countries.
Hi,
First off, thank you so much for taking time to reply to my questions... and also explaining a little bit further the differences of moving into a different country and moving into a different source...
anyway...
About the country part... the campaign that I have is for english speaking country... so I think the adcopy/translation can stay the same... but... the interaction or respond from different group of people is a bit different...
I am just wondering how do you guys approach this type of issue...
base in your answer... my previous data from a specific country/source is a little bit irrelevant when moving into a different "country"...
not totally irrelevant but... still a little bit...
anyway... I got another question...
how many banners do you guys usually keep running?
For example 20 banners... and only 3 banners performing well.. do you guys disable the 17 and add 2 more banners or 3 more?
A lot of my banners have been eating my ad spend...
for example....
1 banner is converting and earning (let's say) $40 for total campaign... and this specific banner adspend is $2...
but because I got a lot of banners.. my adspend goes up... like 10 banners x $2 = total adspend is $20...
I do actively pause none converting banners and adding a new one...
It happens all time. I made around 150% ROI. Now campaign tanked.
