What's The Easiest Way To Create A NewsFeed Ad?

I can't believe I have to ask this question because it should seem so simple...but it just doesn't seem apparent to me how to easily do this (yes, this is my first attempt). I'm trying to create a Newsfeed ad that will link to an outside website.

When logged into my Power Editor, I don't see any field to input the URL or the Title Text or anything. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE???? It doesn't make sense that this would be so hard to find.

I even tried creating the post first on the product page and then going into Power Editor and making an ad from that but there's still no place to input a URL or anything. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be seeing on the PW to make this ad.

Can someone help me here, preferably with some images?

In power editor when you're making the ad, click "Create New Unplublished Post"

From there you can ad the image, the URL and the ad copy you want to use.

FYI - You can only use 20% text in your image so be mindful of that.

Why don't they just call it, "Make Newsfeed Ad"??? Doesn't make sense.

Anyway, once I've made the unpublished post, is there a way to edit it (say if I want to change the dynamic URL)?

Also, I can't see any link to the ad once I've created it, not even after uploading. How do you check to make sure the link is working and is correct?

I think you're lacking understanding of some of the basics of the power editor and/or Facebook campaign structure. (Also have you read my entry-level FB guide? Sponge up that info).

You don't waltz into the power editor and say "create a newsfeed ad" and then make one - things are bit more complicated than that.

First things first, download to power editor to sync it with your ad account and pages.

You have campaign/advert set/advert tabs. You first make a campaign and you set an objective which inherits down to ad sets/ads. For news feed posts you're going to want page likes, or website conversions, or clicks to website, page post engagement, etc. Pick whatever is most relevant.

You then create an ad set which has some budget attached. You then go into this ad set (use the campaign filtering on the left) and click create advert. This is where you select your ad type and placements...

You're probably going to want "Page post link" adverts. You can either use one you have already made on your page, which the world can see, or you can make an 'unpublished post' that does not go live on your feed but can be used as an ad.

Use one of these, then choose link, fill in parameters, bob's your uncle.

You cannot edit unpublished posts once created. Also, FB ad URLs are not dynamic. They are static. Facebook does not support tokens/macros.

Not sure what you mean by you can't see the link? Once you make a Page link post or similar you should be able to see the preview in power editor and click it. You obviously won't be able to see it on your page though.

As far as I know, unpublished post was made for split testing purposes.

Still can't find a way to edit it yet, but we can use the same unpublished post for another campagin using different tracking code for each ads (url option).

yes we can check the link from ads manager -> click link under your ads pic "view in desktop" (cmiiw) -> click your own ads to check the link.

Ok, I found the links. Not sure what happened there but thanks for the responses.
