I want to strangle Bing! (8)

I want to strangle Bing!

Hey guys,

I've been running traffic to Bing for almost 2 months now, and
doing fairly well.

Last week I sent some traffic to a page with an exit pop by
mistake, Bing caught it somehow, and I got a manual review.
The results of that are that they put everything on hold until
I start using "compliant" landers.

No problem, a sensible request...

... except they're being very vague about what constitutes
compliance in their eyes, and I won't receive any impressions
until I figure it out.

I'm not trying to game them or run any offers I shouldn't be
running, I just want to know how to satisfy them so I can switch
on my traffic again and start scaling.

Anybody have input?

Thanks man, that was the first thing I did, and the guy was kinda clueless. Maybe I need to call back
and hopefully get another guy.

One of the first things he said was "You need to have more information about the product and the
price in the ad the user is clicking." I may be new to Bing but I know that's not a requirement.

He also mentioned a lot of other stuff that would completely remove the profitability of the campaign,
like landers with a ton of content. He said something about calls to action too, but I can't remember
what it was.

Was hoping there were like some general guidelines to getting a high quality score.

No one you get on the phone for either bing or adwords will ever discuss compliance with you. They pretty much have a firewall around the risk/compliance department and you will never be able to get direct contact with them. I would just switch all your landers to extremely compliant ones for now and then slowly switch them back as you go. The problem when you get flagged is they do not just check to make sure you are not using an exit pop up they are checking to make sure every page is compliant against their TOS.

Thanks man, that seems to align with what I've
gotten from them so far.

I'm going through their TOS in great detail now, and I
think I'm going to hire an hourly Bing PPC specialist and
get him to walk me through some compliance best
practices.

Gotta be worth a shot, right?

as waltermitty said, the sales reps you talk to do not even have direct access to compliance. the info that compliance give to the reps is also so vague it's a joke. for your page to be compliant (from their pov) you would never get any sales. "I would just switch all your landers to extremely compliant ones for now and then slowly switch them back as you go."... agree

Interesting as I was speaking to someone at Adwords just last week about a site suspension on one of my accounts. Eventually they were able to tell me it was because I was promoting a Tech Support offer and that they consider these a 'poor user experience' (their words).

I removed that section of my site and was approved again. This was after multiple support emails and phone calls.

Thanks for the input guys. Glad to see I'm not just an idiot for
not understand what they want from my landers.

I have a Certified Bing guy working on it right now with his own
account manager, so hopefully he can put together a lander
they're happy with and I can move forward from there.

If that doesn't work, that's fine too, because I'll know to
abandon Bing and move in other directions.
