First Media Buying Campaign

Hi,

I hope I ask this in the right section, if not I apologize!

I want to do a follow along for my first Media Buying campaign. I read some good post on STM and I prepared my ads and landers. Now, I'm not sure if I should use SiteScout or contact the sites directly? Do you have any recommendation?

Thanks!

did you do your homework?
a tool like whatrunswhere.com can tell you what traffic source is dominating for the offer you want to run, and it makes sense to try it where it already did good

^^^Listen^^^ You also have to tell us more of what your doing? Mobile or Web? How much experience do you have? If your going direct on some Sources you will need an adserver for your media buy. This will ad another dynamic to your process as well as cost. Depending on the vertical...Site scout might not be the best choice for a newbie. So give us a bit more info and i'm sure some of the guys can help better.

Thanks to point me out the missing information, it makes sense to tell more.

I picked a weight loss offer and it is for web. I will not go mobile for now as I'm not enough comfortable to do landing pages for mobile. The market is USA.

My experience is with social media, Facebook and PoF, some PPV but without much success in this case and with 7Search (no more successful here either). So, it's a new niche and a new traffic source.

Regarding WRW, I know that it can help but I'm on a budget (max. $1K) Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that it should be better to keep my cash to test some sites.

Unless your going ultra targeted and have done your research as prescribed above and know what sites your offer is working on. I wouldn't advise going this direction. You can blow through 1k quick on site scout man and possibly not see enough results to even make any decisions. I advise that you take a step back and do some more research before diving into this one. I have no experience with weight loss...so i can not advise on that one.

I thought people from SiteScout could help me find good sites to advertise but I am perhaps too credulous? As you say, I also read that some had seen their budget disappear without getting a lot of clicks and no sales. That's why I asked the question here before paying for SiteScout.

I feel lost a little and disappointed as it looks that I started with the wrong tasks. The campaign is ready but I don't know where to launch it!

I checked some media buying platforms like BuySellAds, Pulse360 etc. and SiteScout seems to be the best choice but I stay with a doubt. Obviously, when I check the websites of these platforms, they are all the best one!

SiteScout definitely requires a higher budget. It's a comparatively tough platform to master, and there are a lot of frogs to kiss before finding your prince, placement-wise!

Give you have experience with PoF and PPV, why not start some new campaigns with one of those sources (I'd recommend PoF) to boost your budget, then come back to media buying ready to crush it later on? You'll nearly always do better sticking to one traffic source which you've already got experience in.

This may be a crazy idea but as the campaign is almost ready, would it be possible to find someone here to do a JV? I think to someone who has experience with Media Buying. I am a graphic designer and I think that I'm doing good with marketing. My ads generally have a good CTR.
