CPA vs Revshare vs CPL (5)
Hi guys,
I've been in the web for years and always work in CPA/Revshare in French market.
When I look at all case study here, it seems every one of you is working with CPL and micro payment of X$ per lead.
Of course I understand that using CPL make all campagns easy to optimize has datas come early in the process.
But :
- Don't you think working in Revshare gets more $ in the long run ?
- How do you work in CPL in Europe, 95% of offers are CPA or Revshare only
Also :
- When you work on CPA or Revshare, how many conversions or traffic send to the offer do you wait to see if one offer is better than one other ?

As far as CPL offers in Europe, most of the good affiliate networks have a whole bunch of what I would call CPA (Cost Per Action) offers, the type that most affiliates are using, that work in Europe. App installs, games, lead gen, dating, and adult are all plentiful in Europe.
Just to clarify - when I refer to CPA offers, I'm referring to offers that payout when, for example, a user signs up for a free dating site account, installs an app, or similar. Is that what you mean by a CPL offer? The two terms can certainly be used interchangeably!

Most offers are CPA (Cost Per Acquisition), you promote the offer, the visitor buy it and you get paid at you choice :
- OneShot : you get once 80/110€ for a 90€ bimonthly offer

Most offers in France in the XBIZ area do not offer CPL.
The only offers that does are generally international offers translated in french by non french compagny, I've juste starting testing them yesterday.

In mainstream, CPL offers are really more frequents in France.
To give you an example in adult dating, the top converting offer give you 75€ in CPA Oneshot.
On average on their plateform, you need to get 12 visitors that subscribe to get one convertion.
Of course, it can take 100 offers to subscribe and then make 3 or 4 convertions in a row, so you need to get enough volume for statistical significance.
Their product is a messenger like, and you have to add the fact that I take nearly a week after an user as download the app to convert.
The whole thing make the evaluation of an offer and a campagn far more longueur than offer with CPL.
But I'm pretty sure that you get more money on the long run as you take more risks on you side.
And for add more complications, OneShot is pretty easy, it take more longer but you know how much money you get per convertion.
With rebill, it also depends on the number of months of rebills, the upsells and the chargebacks.
It make things really shitty to put in a row and see what's the better option :/
Another important reason to keep in mind is cashflow.
If you run CPL you most probably get paid weekly and cover the costs of buying media right away.
Instead if you run rev-share, it can make more money but sometimes for dating it takes 6months+ to break a positive ROI.

Cashflow is not an issue here as I do the optimization on my personal free Google traffic for the learning process.
When I will be LV70 with that, I will go well armed to all traffic networks.
I've done some testing with CPL today and it's really more effective for early optimization, I plan to stick with that, find the more profitable CPL offer and then split test it on CPL/CPA to see how I can make in bonus with CPA.
