Hi guys, just start advertising on tj, does anyone know the average banner ctr?
My thought is for advertiser Video A,B, it should be 1%, and for footer square, it should be 0.1%, right?
You will have a hard time getting over 0.4% on NTV spots, usually it will be around 0.25%, depending on the GEO obviously, the numbers I gave you are for USA for example. 0.25-0.30% is something you should consider decent, I have seen banners jump over 0.5% from time to time tho, as well as down to 0.15%.
Dont know much about footers, didnt test them there enough, but judging by other networks, its not uncommon to see ctr below 0.05% or lower in the footers.
thx for reply, I just take a look of the report for footers, it's around 0.02%, depends on the bid price compare to NTVs, it should be 0.2%.
I could get NTVA CTR to be around 0.3% to 0.4%. I haven't been able to get it higher though =[
Best ad I ever had on Video A spot (300x250px right to the video) on trafficjunky/youporn was 0.8% CTR and my average was arround 0.3% with a lot of ads which I thought were good beeing arround 0.1%. I do suck at designing ads though, so that should be considered only a very rough reference.
I attached the ad that got the 0.8% CTR, it was basically just text which said in german "See how we fuck chicks at the octoberfest while you were masturbating".

Yep, it's important to get slang down. But on a very basic level, how to get "you" down. I'm German and ANYTHING you put into Google Translate, it will give you the formal "you" (Sie) whereas the informal you (Du) converts better. These words are not interchangeable, you need to restructure the sentence.
Same for French and many other languages. If you're not multilingual and not using Fiverr, you're missing out IMO (I'm aware that it's been 'proven' otherwise in this forum.)
As most members already wrote above, it's very hard to give an average CTR per ad spot.
The Geo targeting makes a big difference and the ad design will as well.
The best thing is to test for yourself and adjust according to the results you are getting.
