applying Angry Russian guide to app install niche

hi guys, im back with some newbie questions again, hopefully i can get some help from fellow STM members who all have been really helpful!

recently got an advice from deondup, in the other thread, saying that every niche requires a different approach, and i totally agree with what he said so i've been re-thinking about my gameplan and went to re-read the guide by angryrussian. it appears like the guide has little focus to (free/game)app install niche.

here are some approaches which was adviced that i would hope to get some clarification on

1)it is recommended to block wifi traffic, should we do so? or should we seperate test along side or later o1n when offer is profitable?

2)it is also recommended to block app traffic. is that again recommended for (free/game)app installs?

3)the guide a recommends that we keep our budget low on, about 5-10times of payout. given that app installs can payout really low say, $0.20, can we really apply this formula across the board? or how can we calculate our budget for testing the offer?

4)how about tablets? only ipad's being mentioned. i thinkt tablet wld largely be coming from wifi traffic too. might nt be too profitable for some apps i suppose?hmmm..

thank you guys in advance for the help! i really appreciate each and every help that i've recieved!

On low payouts like that you need broad traffic - as broad as you can afford.

Blocking wifi is not a good idea - separating it is a good idea unless you have a good testing budget. In general wifi traffic is cheaper which is another idea to split wifi and carrier traffic.

Don't block app traffic. For some apps it performs MUCH better than WAP. Again, separate it for the same reasons as above.

How much you budget is never easy. Over time you get a feel for what's working. On a 0.20 App install I will test $20-$100. It mostly depends on how $$ the traffic is. Winning campaigns usually show promise right off the bat.

Tablet traffic is worth much more than phone/device traffic and tends to cost much more. The payouts are usually much higher as well especially for iPad traffic. DO NOT disregard it.

Alex's guide is REALLY good but I think a lot of what was going on back then has become much better. In the past on some traffic sources wifi and App traffic sucked big time but this is no longer the case. Also, back then there where very few Apps to promote and most of the offers where lead gen's and PIN's

I'm in the same boat having read Angry Russian's guide and have been thinking about targeting mobile/site but not testing wifi/app at all, so I wanted to say thanks supeyrio for asking great questions, and thanks also deondup for some great advice.
