The Profit - Great Show to Learn Business

If you're looking for a great show to watch and haven't seen it there's a show called The Profit on CNBC.

There's an entrepreneur named Marcus Lemonis. He goes into failing businesses and turns them around.

He talks about People, Process and Product. What they are, how to improve them and a lot of time how to get the owner out of his own way and to believe in the process.

If you watch this show think about your business and how it applies to what you do.

Been addicted to this show but being in the UK had to watch it online, think the candy shop was my favorite episode

Another good show is bar rescue quite similar where he goes into bars that are failing to redesign the bar and get it making profit, surprising how much you can lose with staff over pouring drinks

A couple others that I like to enjoy are shark tank, hotel rescue, and million dollar listing NY.

Hotel rescue is similar to bar rescue. It has the same idea and concept, but it isn't about the drama as much. Bar rescue has gotten away from the "science" of bar psychology, and is focusing more on the employee issues now. Not a horrible thing, but I personally like it better when they would go into great detail about the design, processes, and flow of the bars rather than focus on how crazy employees are.

Million dollar listing NY is a bit hokey, but these guys have the same drive and attitude needed for this business. I also really like how they market their properties. They are very creative people that are always thinking one step ahead and outside of the box.

oh and this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5li...id=P-OIIp2SRJI
It's a documentary about hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones.

I don't even know anything about the stock market but this guy really intrigued me.

Jungle gold and gold rush as addition to the profit are really motivating shows.

"Kitchen Nightmares" with Gordon Ramsey is actually worth a watch, at least the UK version. It's very foodie, as you'd expect, but also has a lot of good insight into restaurant marketing, hiring, etc, which sometimes translates to other sectors.

Bar rescue with jon taffer has to be my favorite ever haha. that guy is the greatest, straight up mad motha fucker hahaha ...

Do some of these shows piss anyone off here (kitchen night mares, bar rescue etc etc) when these lazy shitty people have the tv crew come in, they should just fail because they run it like shit but than they get injected with like 100-150k worth of upgrades and renos and than even fuck that up. lucky bastards.
thats why i like the profit, if they are mental, he walks...

I just watched the first episode 'Car Cash' and it was great, small changes resulted in much higher margins!

You can find the complete season 1 & 2 on your favorite torrent site.

I love the profit. I've watched all episodes this weekend and taking notes. I was able to turn a losing campaign into one that generates profit using simple math & margins optimization ;-) And it's just the beginning... I really hate myself for concentrating on "fancy stuff" only and not analyzing the basic numbers and whats my real "leverage".

Another lesson learned: Know your fucking numbers!
