Still really confused about tracking, CPV Labs. Few Questions...

This is my first time setting up tracking and wow this stuff is confusing lol.

I've read the tutorials by caruman but I still have some questions.

FYI: I'm using Peerfly and CPV labs.

So I have a couple questions:

1) So in Peerfly, my affiliate URL as given by Peerfly looks like "http://trkur.com/tk?o=5550&p=127712" Do I simply turn it into this: "http://trkur.com/tk?o=5530&p=127712&s1=" and is this now my official URL? Am I done after this in regards to setting up my URL? Are you ever supposed to fill in s1 (add your own sub id) by yourself?

2) What URL do I use to copy and paste into my landing page code in, <a href="WHAT URL GOES HERE">? Do I use the URL about?

3) In this post Step #5 - http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...ampaign-Part-2, Caruman says "You should end up with 10 URLs, each of them including the name of a banner you created earlier. "

For example, if I'm using POF, do these 10 URLS get used in POF? What if I'm only testing 1 landing page but have 10 banners, does this matter?

Sorry for these newbie questions but tracking is pretty confusing to me right now and I just want to get it right.

Thanks

1) With CPV Lab you generally have it set to automatically append a unique click ID to your offer URL, hence why it should always end with "&something=", as this then becomes "&something=unique_click_ID". Generally, it is not recommended to pass unique click IDs as the first subid at your affiliate network - i.e. better to use s2= not s1=.

I would also recommend passing some identifying info to your network. If you send gazillions of click IDs and everything else is blank, how will and advertiser react to your traffic? It could be that one of your angles is giving great lead quality for the advertiser and the other is not - but they just see the average and end up kicking you for bad lead quality. Not a great situation!

So, I would recommend passing some tokens as s1 and the have the URL end with &s2=

If tokens are outside what you're currently comfortable with, just use ....tk?o=1234&p=45678&s2=

2) The link should read href="http://mydomain.com/base2.php" where mydomain.com is the domain you have your CPV Lab hosted at.

3) For a specific campaign in CPV Lab you will get a specific tracking URL - just one. However, you can add additional information to this URL to identify what ads the click is coming from. Think of the tracking URL as a postal address that sends users to the right house. The keyword, which we append to this tracking URL using "&keyword=something" is like an envelope with some information inside that the user hands off at the house before being told where to go next (e.g. a landing page or the offer). So, we give users the same postal address but give them different envelopes.

So, banner 1's URL might be http://.......something&keyword=US_Campaign_Banner1
and banner 2's URL might be http://.......something&keyword=US_Campaign_Banner2

(Note I've completely forgotten what CPV Lab's tracking URLs look like).

So, all that has changed is the keyword value which tells CPVlab exactly which banner just sent the user to it.

For every banner on PoF you would have a different keyword so that you can identify their traffic individually. It doesn't matter if you have 1 LP or 7, or 3 offers on the backend or 1. You would use the same CPV Lab tracking URL but with a keyword appended to identify the banner. Use something all-inclusive, i.e. don't use banner1, banner2, use TJ_US_Campaign1_Banner1 - something which tells you about the banner, so that you can make some sense of your stats.
