In early tests we’ve seen increased engagement — up to 3X more — from people seeing the new design.
I for one am liking the look of these. More space, bigger picture, more text. As usual it's a good idea to get in early where possible to reap the maximum benefits before users go banner blind.

It will close in the pricing diff between RHS and NF.

Right now you can get RHS for 20c cpm and NF for the same stuff is $7~. I can see that gap closing very quickly once they roll that out.

It will make it very tough for lower paying offers. dating, games ect.

CPM's will go up for that spot, but I think the idea is that the CTR will improve enough to offset the cost so you should be back to a similar cpc, or possibly even better if you can get it working for you.

Those big spots go blind fast. Look at the NF - when it first started I could get 15-20% on images without trying. Similar images now are getting 2-4%.

Eventually increasing the image size will plateau with engagement where the image will get bigger with no additional gain in engagement. I remember reading about this, but trying to remember where I read it. (may have been cashvertising).

I'm more looking forward to FB rolling out an adsense competitor so we can buy on placements outside of facebook.

It's a good change IMO.

Higher engagement through bigger (is better) images.

Importantly, these can be linked directly offsite without social context or non-compliant redirects, which is great for the typical affiliate.

CTR and CPC on these will fall between RHS and NF, true. Right now even with their new placements and stuff, I try and be careful not to bid myself into the top spot. My ads that are 1-3% CTR on RHS don't do as well as those on 0.7% CTR (which is top quality for their placement, whereas 0.7% would be worst CTR for the best RHS placement).

That ad looks like a single ad, I wonder if they will rotate it as well (live on page, like they do at the moment). So unfortunately we won't be able to bid ourselves into the 'profit zone' in RHS anymore, as we'll be off the page! Still, engagement will be up and I am sure this will be great for all.

Let's see how it plays out.

Also looking forward to FB competing with Adsense... that would open up so much fucking profit for the affiliates that jump on early and have a lot of accounts...

.
1-3% CTR on RHS?

I'm between .09-.3% on RHS's normally.

I've been 1% a few times but it was OCPM's, and they were crazy high for RHS's like $2.00 and they always seem to perform awful when they go high like that.
