Hi,
I joined the forum just a week ago. I am not a long time learner
So I plan to post here approx once per week my result and plans.
This week I decided to go with dating offers.
Total banners made: 50 (I was so productive 10 banners every week day
, they are not awesome but still I got some clicks using them, the best CTR I got was 0.18% )
Landing pages: 2 (but approx 80% of campaigns I used direct linking)
Total campaigns: 13 (some of them have been very slow, I am just getting used to the traffic source I use)
Total imps: 430 000
Total clicks: 343
Offers tried: 3 (from 2 different networks)
Conversions: 0
I do not talk about money yet. Because it is all -100% ROI.
I am not sure yet about next week. Maybe I'll give one more chance for dating offers or maybe I'll try another offer category.
You offer choice is wrong. What's the payout on that offer. Make sure offer have good feedback from network. Test 10x-20x of offer's payout before you move to your next offer.
Obvious question - what traffic source are you running on? That'll affect your results to a significant extent.
Hi everybody,
Second week of my affiliate career is done.
Here numbers:
New banners: 30
New landing pages: 3
About clicks and campaigns :

I had my first 12 conversions this week
with total profit: $62
result: -$166
I have tested my campaigns with 2 networks. One of the networks did 0 conversions for me while second had approx 2-3 conversion per big campaign.
Although I got 12 conversions I still do not have enough data to analyze.
I can see some people suggest to try different traffic sources while other say it is better to stick with one till I find my way to make profit on it.
Well. Now it is hard decision for me.
Do I need to continue with new creatives ? As I see some of my banners have decent CTR. While my landing pages have it around 10%-15%. But in final result I do not see much difference between using landing page or direct linking.
So far I could see approx 2-3 conversions per 1000 clicks and it does not matter - direct linking or landing page.
Maybe I am not skilled enough to created good selling landing page. I have tried 2 my own landing pages. They had awful 5-7% CTR. And one ripped. I just changed images and slightly changed text. Slightly better 10-15% CTR.
Perhaps I'll take a rest reading the forum for couple days to compose my TODO plan for the next week.
I don't know a single thing about adult traffic but I know about working hard, so I just wanted to chime in and tell you nice job for making a start and putting the effort in. The only way is up, and you're already seeing conversions.
Well done!
MoneyMaker... Think of this as a combination of starting a business and education. What's it cost to start a business? Do you need to invest some money to learn about the market, test the market, make changes and then profit? Of course you need to for any business. Now I'm assuming you've never done marketing and advertising before. So effectively it's like a crash course in those things as well. Going to school for those things would cost you $40-200k. Starting a business would cost you on the very low end with no physical presence 30-50k minimum all the way up to millions of dollars in investment before you made your first dollar.
if you're looking for a get rich quick thing, some way to make a quick buck or whatever. I'd suggest you leave now. This industry will chew you up and spit you out quickly.
BUT.... if your'e willing to make a commitment to growth, investing in you career in marketing, building a plan and working that plan. You can be WILDLY successful. Same as most other businesses. 95% of businesses fail in the first 5 years. Well 95% of people that start businesses have no plan, make tons of bad decisions and don't have a solid support team, take on partners without clear defined roles/responsibilities in writing, or are overall under captialized.
For this business you need probably a minimum of $50-100/week to invest into buying clicks and getting data. $100/mo for stackthatmoney so you have a network of people to ask questions of and work with. The barrier to entry for this business is extremely low. But that doesn't mean that it's easy. You still have to build a solid plan and work that plan. All while working on yourself to make yourself better.
All the tools you need to be successful in this business other then the things mentioned about are free. Step back and put things into perspective. Treat this business well and it'll treat you well.
Looks like you're off to a good start man even if it doesn't feel like it.
You aren't seeing much difference between LPs and direct linking because your LPs are performing poorly. That's good news, it gives you a very clear area to improve on.
Put LPs on the very top of this weeks todo list, learn what you need to and bust your nuts searching for a winner.
Ok,
one more week is done.
First numbers (I do not show screenshot just because I did approx 50 campaigns and they do not fit to a single screen
):
Spent: $250 ($84 of them I spent on juicyads just to taste the water of the new for me trafic source, I got nothing in return from this so far)
Revenue: $60
Profit: -$190
Created new banners: 30
Total views: 1,131,777
Total clicks: 2,512
Avarage CTR: 0.22%
This week I decided to work only with direct linking to find an offer which brings me relatively stable conversions. Even if it is not profitable yet. It seems like I found 2 offers which bring me enough conversions to make it even.
I did not finish all the tests I have in my plan. I believe I'll be able to complete them tomorrow. Even if they are negative I have already 2 angles (I am not sure how to call this: angles, concepts or approaches) which it is possible to optimize using LPs. This is a hard part
so far my LPs made it only worse. I am awesome programmer but as a content writer just horrible. So I need to figure out my way around how I shall do content for my LPs.
Nice work so far! Finding an offer / angle combination that works is most of the battle.
Landers: read everything you can about copywriting (Ca$hvertising, Tested Advertising Methods, Swiss Army Knife), spy on the competition, and other than that, just keep testing things! You'll hit something that works.
