Stat checking OCD

Anyone else obsessed with checking their stats? It's all I seem to do all day, any tips on stopping yourself from doing it?

I used to be like that in the beginning. Even had the P202 plugin that would play a sound like "ooohh yeah" on every conversion.

After some time I was over it without really trying, it just got boring.

Right now, I am the opposite, sometimes I lose money on campaigns because I check just once or twice a day even for new camps.

It's just a phase when you are starting out and overly excited, it will just fade away by itself.

You can hire coder to make some script to update your smartphone's homescreen with latest stat. Try to get busy. Make more campaigns/ Test more campaigns.

I think that would just make matters even worse, I'd be on my phone all the time!

Try this:
From now on You're allowed to check stats no more than 6 times a day.

A while back i used to sell porn in the Netherlands and Belgium. People in these countries do not often pay by creditcard, they pay by phone and call a premium number. The stats where live and you could see the guy calling the number and the duration of the call. I was watching the time go up and up, and you where hoping you had a big whale on your hook who would be on the line for hours (5 hours was my max, at ~$1,20 a minute). Now these where exciting times haha.

Get busy with something else. And close your tabs. These two worked for me. I used to have 20-30 tabs open at all times. Once I closed them and gave myself enough work I just stopped checking my stats. Focus is the key for me now.

I have a live view on my offers checkout page where I can see people live on the page. lol its the worst , watching them slowly fill out the fields, than just exit.

keep on top of your stats but can spend your time better elsewhere. Most of the time it plays mind games on you by looking at small sample sizes ... it is fun tho

thats a good point.

sometimes I find myself in a stat checking binge right after launching something new. at first its needed just to make sure everything is running smoothly as expected, and I don't just leave it and come to an unexpected issue. but a lot of the time, there really isnt much I need to do until I have collected enough data/whatever, and moving over to something else can get hard to focus on. so when It just comes to that, I just get up and leave my computer. go for a drive/whatever. get my mind off of it. come back a few hours later to some nice juicy data and get back to it

fuck yesterday I drove to McDonalds in the next town over about 2 hours away return just to get away from the computer for a bit. could have just went out and had a few beers with some people but I knew all what I would be doing is thinking about my campaigns and end up being unsociable

damn you AM you evil mistress

If you really DONT want to be able to look at your stats you can install the extension called StayFocusd. I always used it so I could get my college work done because I was a massive procrastinator.

You can make it so you can only go on certain sites X amount of minutes during set times.

I've had a shift changed over time where i check stats the next day. It feels more rewarding seeing the whole set of #'s from the previous day. It's also a lot more calming then checking all day long, but it's not easy if you're super excited about the stats or if you're stats are always jumping.

Another thing you could do if you are active on a lot of networks is to buy nifty stats or statsremote. Checking your stats would be less time consuming using one of these 2.
