Hey guys,
Is there a tutorial somewhere for quickly setting up servers nearby the traffic source to host LPs to maximize speeds? Maybe using amazon services or similar (is it cheaper as I understand they charge by the hour?).
Thansk!
PHP-based or HTML/JS only landers? The latter can be offloaded to a CDN.
For setting up VPS for hosting the landers you could use all number of services, but if you want the server close to the traffic chances are you will simply have to learn how to do it and create a plan/roadmap to make your life easier. Or you could hire someone.
AWS charges hourly, which is great, but they are a pain to use for a newbie and have limited datacentre locations. They are also reasonably expensive - to the point that if you ran it for one week you could just as easily have paid for a month-long term with a random VPS provider (and probably had higher performance too... small AWS instances aren't known for their blazing fast speeds).
Thanks Dave,
So I guess the best option is just search for a server provider like Knownhost, Beyond, etc. and ask them to set up an instance near to the traffic.
IMO, you will have more flexibility if you can hire a casual sysadmin who can roll out VPS on demand for you with whatever provider you suggest. Of course there are the risks here of them having access to your servers...
