google content network question

i just launched my first campaign on google content network using some banners and site placements, surprisingly enough they were all approved within 10 minutes of creating the campaign, also the adwords account is only about 15 days old and this is the first campaign ive loaded up on it. How long should it be before my ads start receiving impressions? also im bidding default .50 cpc, is that a good place to start? im a total newb when it comes to google, but i though i would try to branch out my buisness a bit and hit some placements via gcn and then try to do some direct site buys if things work out.

thanks

GCN can take some time to start seeing impressions. Usually 24 to 48hrs but it can be much longer in some cases (probably due to manual reviews). What kind of niche or keywords are you bidding on to suggest $.50 minimum?

Basically, you need to be patient with content network on Google. Good luck to you!

I have been running my first AdWords campaign (Search and GCN) and got impressions from GCN pretty quickly. This is with a fairly old account though, which might have an impact.

For this niche I have found that when it rains, it pours, and GCN is the majority of my impressions and clicks.

Whats the niche? Are you not getting ANY impressions?

Are your ads/keywords approved or under review?

$0.50 on GCN is really low for the dating niche, especially if you are bidding on sites related to dating keywords. I would jack your bids up to $1.50 and see what happens...If you're broad-targeting US visitors on common dating terms, your CPCs will be closer to $1-$2. You're competing with direct advertisers that get all the backend monies and can therefore afford to outbid you. Best solution I've found is to run a white label site, which also enables you to direct link. Problem with white labeling is you're probably looking at Net 30 payouts and have to pay for chargebacks...

ok ill see how 1.50 does, on gcn depending on ctr you pay less right, if i have a high ctr i pay less then what i bid like on facebook?

What exactly do you mean by a white label site?

Use the back end/database of an established dating site but put your own skin and branding on it. It looks like *your* dating site but with *their* members.
