That way they can demotivate the cloakers, while still squeezing money out of them.

no they're not letting any dating ads thru.
spoke with them 2x on the phone.
anything you see is either cloaked or an advertiser spending big $$ (over 100k a month)

There was the official dating ban.
For 1-2 months afterwards people were still getting ads through by creatively cloaking and other techniques.
Then this happened.

I think this was the final straw and made Facebook completely clean things up.
It is possible to be white-listed with an advertiser, but your campaign will be closely monitored by the Facebook team for compliance.

The headline states "Nude Webcams and Diet Drugs: the Facebook Ads Teens Aren't Supposed to See."
'Nuff said.

What they want is not want they get.

Nothing has changed for the most part, for the guys who cloak and haven't jumped to diet/muscle/skin (with accounts not lasting as long, it's in everyone's interest to jump to a better profit-per-account strategy).
I submitted more than 50 ads with scantily clad women in the creatives today, all got approved... I haven't had a retro in 2 months. They haven't cleared out cloaked dating if there is no system to do this (if the ad is ambiguous enough, and if reporting rates on account are low). Furthermore, the nature of cloaking means the ads cannot be categorised, unless you are targeting single men with an ad that says dating.
Most importantly, the monkeys doing the ad approvals have no idea how to spot cloaking, nor is it in their interest to diverge from their accept/deny workflow to investigate or report a cloaker (they have KPIs they have to meet, and there are a million active advertisers on the platform so there are lots of ads coming in).

That is I guess not the bottom line of the article, but the answer is what I suspected that happens nowadays.

Dating ads can still get through, just need to play it safe with not very aggressive ads.
If you have a low report rate you can go a long way without losing accounts.

yup...getting around 50% duplicate clicks for the past 15-20 days. my landers' clickthrough rate too has gone down from 50% to less than 30%. I have stopped running dating ads as ROI is terrible compared to the past couple of years and I am just not able to get a high CTR even with these kind of images:
Still running ads on my whitelisted accounts as the advertiser has agreed to cover my losses but otherwise, I feel that it is better to cloak diet/skin these days.
