It is not required to know any coding but it's damn handy if you know your way around a bit.
You should have some understanding of php, js, html and css. It helps a lot to understand what your landing pages do for example.
It also helps you explain things to coders. Also, you won't be demanding silly stuff from them like setting up a database with the use of css.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: You can get away with knowing basic HTML/CSS, and still do huge numbers.
It just depends how you build your campaigns. My speech from the STM BKK meet up talks about this, it should be posted in the next week or so.

Yeah you don't need to know much... but understanding a little bit of everything helps.
PHP helps for simple dynamic things e.g. pass some value to lander via the URL, GET it and display it on the page. (e.g. pass user city from traffic source, use it in the lander - "Hi users from X city!".)
Understanding the basics of HTML and CSS is really helpful for building and tweaking landers, e.g. need to deal with placing pixels, tracking links, might want to change some background colour from gray to white = a simple CSS change. It helps to know what the various elements are, i.e. <div> <a> <p> <span> <head> <body> etc. It makes the code a whole lot less mysterious and confusing.

I might be biased but it really really isn't all that difficult to at least learn the basics of HTML/CSS, there's a bunch of good udemy courses that are always going on sale, plenty of tutorials and YouTube videos floating around.

If you already know it , it helps for sure.
But if learning coding right now would mean sacrificing time spent on campaigns, I wouldn't recommend it.
Focus on what you do best and what makes you the most money, outsource the rest.

Do you need to learn how to program?
Takes AT LEAST 1hr/week to master a skill so I'd recommend spending at least 1hr/week learning how to code. And then apply this at least 1hr/week to all the skills you want to learn as well.
The rest of your time focus on the 20% that gets you 80% of the results. Launching converting campagins

i dont agree, i think 1hr per week gets you hardly anywhere especialy when u are total noob. gonna forget alot too often.
the most efficient way is to outsource some work to and expert and get him and learn from him while he does the work(you migth pay abit more though)
if you are on a budget, just focus on what makes you money and when u encounter coding problems along the way, then look for specific soloutions. slowly you will get more familiar because u had to source for solutions and apply it on the spot. u'll probably get to a point where u will decide whether this bootstrap method is good enough or you would prefer to learn coding seriously. by then u wld have figured out quite some basics.

I agree. 1hr/week gets you hardly anywhere, However AT LEAST 1hr/week keeps your head in the game for that skill by being PRO-ACTIVE, and overtime you'll become good at it.
Since you are spending the rest of your time focusing on launching campaigns you're gonna come across tasks that require coding anyways and that's when you can outsource/hire/partner with someone to help or do it yourself.
The AT LEAST 1hr/week is being pro-active on a certain skill you want to learn by taking a course for example. It's a technique I learnt from Chet Holmes (google him) and been applying it since. In the long run you'll at least have a solid understanding of every part of your business since you spent time being pro-active and refining the skills.

It's helps, but the most successful affiliate I know has zero development skill.
I'm a mobile developer by day, and always willing to answer coding related questions for a fellow stm'er!
Feel free to hit me up, that goes for everyone struggling with da codez!
