mgid is a total joke .... (8)
i decided to make a test in mgid for some health/gaming niche.
i put 100$ ,tested a few ad ,few conversion ... LP ctr very low ( bot?) ,well ...quality is low/average but perhaps with some work,it could make the trick ....
i forgot the account a few days then a "manager" skype me ,and tell me .

shooted some ads BLOCKED THE CAMPAIGN AT 400$ (100$ was already spent ) so 300$ remaining and let's roll
24h hour later ,got contacted by my famous dedi manager.
in fact the dedi manager only allow you to block bad converting site (yes you cant do it yourself 
)
he asked if i need help with ads ,i say no, its fine for now .
campaign launched again and started to collect more data
then ... 24 hours later ,i was in my car ,saw a skype message from manager .

Disqus is the same, you can't do shit, it's not self-serve, gotta contact them for changing shit... such a hassle. I know a guy doing X,XXX daily cloaking them... There is lots of money to be made with mgid/disqus as they're not often discussed, but your contacts can be dicks as per OP's post..
I hate managed traffic providers as the people you are trusting to optimize the campaigns are usually worthless. You have to be on top of them on an almost daily basis especially if you are dealing with IO's x,xxx+. I probably spend 4-5 hours a week arguing with managers from multiple networks over bot clicks and just other dumb shit.

I used to do the same, arguing every day at the beginning ( managed traffic sources ). However after spending some decent money it's impressive how their attitude changes and how available / polite they get :P
I've used MGID quite some time ago, the account rep was a pain in the arse, but the traffic was giving a decent ROI on my offer. Cloaking seems to be the best option for me...
