OMG! Decisive Interface (why must I cry)

Anyone else is ready to rip their hair out from working with Decisive's interface. The loading, constant having to refresh my page because it froze. I cleared some banners off my campaigns and uploaded new one. It was still advertising the old one AHHHHH!!! my money. I couldn't remove them by editing the campaign because they weren't there. I had to blacklist them in the campaign. It is so slow for me.

Why must I cry
why why must I cry
Why must I cry
why why must I cry
Whyyy muuussst III Cryyyyy

I feel your pain brother.

04-03-2014 07:46 AM #3 zeno (Administrator)

Have you communicated these recent complaints directly to Decisive's support team?

04-03-2014 03:17 PM #4 Finch (Moderator)

The incessant freezing, browser crashing and general spazzing is starting to chaff on my titties too.

I hope they're working on it.

04-03-2014 03:20 PM #5 adatrax (Member)

Agreed! Same issues here too.

04-03-2014 05:26 PM #6 atom64 ()

yea thats because they use a lot of html5 and fency jquery stuff
it just blow up the browsers
but to be honest the live updates on stats are awesome :P

You could send your complaints in here as I did

04-03-2014 09:00 PM #8 Andrea Decisive (Member)

Awww you guys! I'm sorry. Has it improved for you since this weekend?

Please do let us know when it is slow. It's much easier to diagnose and fix when we know what the problem is and when it is occurring for you.

We can get things going much better if you send a message to support. I recommend it as a first step.

04-03-2014 09:16 PM #9 zeno (Administrator)

On a side note, when stuff like this happens I tend to test Chrome vs Firefox and sometimes even Opera. The way Chrome and FF handle page rendering and Javascript is quite different and it can lead to huge differences in page performance.

Ergo, run it in another browser and see how it fairs. If it works a lot better this is also important information to give to the support teams.

^^^ Zeno is right on all counts.

04-04-2014 07:46 AM #11 kamaleon (Member)

Andrea, it is slow 90% of the time (when it loads) with all the browsers available in the market It seems the database upgrade was not enough

I am in a mobile mastermind group with 8 people and we all have the same problems with your platform

04-04-2014 09:08 AM #12 kamaleon (Member)

Just checked and today the performance seems better

04-04-2014 09:31 AM #13 carboot (Member)

Yeah this really needs to be addressed. There are times when it just doesn't load at all.

The live stats are awesome, but I'm starting to look at other traffic sources.

04-06-2014 05:29 PM #14 stackman (Administrator)

Noticed the same thing ^^

04-06-2014 09:15 PM #15 Andrea Decisive (Member)

We are definitely still working on it.

We don't want you to suffer!

04-07-2014 01:46 PM #16 David Decisive ()

Hey Everyone - This is David. I'm the CEO of Decisive. I wanted to hop in here.

We take this feedback very seriously. Everyday we're working to change the mobile advertising game with our user experience, but having a slow or unusable system isn't acceptable. @atom64 is correct, one of the major tradeoffs we make with having live stats is that it is very heavy on the browser, and performance varies significantly depending on your internet connection, browser and operating system you're using.

While we've got a lot of really cool features we are building to make running mobile campaigns even better, we have shelved everything that we are working on right now to solve this problem. We want to be sure our platform is stable and reliable across all internet connections, browsers, and computers.

We have run extensive tests on the system, but we can't quite replicate all of the performance issues without your help.

This week, our CTO would like to personally schedule interviews each of you individually to get each of your slow experiences, and understand what equipment you're using. To schedule a time can you please email support@decisive.is with the subject "Ryan, it's slow!" and he'll take it form there.

We don't want Decisive to suck or be slow. We build this product for you, so we want to be sure we're fulfilling your expectations.

If you have any other problems, or feature requests you'd like to see in the future please let us know.

Thanks for using Decisive, we couldn't do what we do without you guys.

-David

David, today I could not even see my creatives... Something weird in the system.

04-08-2014 02:33 PM #18 Andrea Decisive (Member)

@Kamaleon Creatives should be showing now. Is it back to normal for you?

04-08-2014 02:56 PM #19 kamaleon (Member)

Yeah I can see them now

04-22-2014 09:53 AM #20 bigmike007 (Member)

Ummm, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Especially when i was about to update this thread and show my gratitude towards the team over at Decisive for their support including Ramneek Decisive. He definitely made sure to always check in on me to find out if any issues i was experiencing were addressed.

But let me just state as i write this post it's been 30 min now and i can not access their interface to pause my campaigns. From what i can tell their servers maybe down (maybe). Tracert failed, and ping, but then again they could be blocking that communication.

Just a heads up to all currently running. But make no mistake i know as soon as they realize this it will be fixed promptly.

Thank you in advance Decisive team. I work in IT so i know things happen.

04-22-2014 09:57 AM #21 zeno (Administrator)

Yah seems to be down for whatever reason. Hopefully it gets fixed asap - these sort of outages are not normal but can happen due to the nature of the internet.

04-22-2014 10:05 AM #22 ubergeek (Member)

Agreed with Zeno.

I can't seem to access the website, worked yesterday but not today.

https://app.decisive.is/

chrome sees this
This web page is not available

firefox see this

server not found

or

XML Parsing Error: unexpected parser state Location: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/omni.ja!/chrome/toolkit/content/global/netError.xhtml Line Number 308, Column 50: <div id="ed_netReset">&netReset.longDesc;</div> -------------------------------------------------^

Anyone facing this problem? or just me?

04-22-2014 10:15 AM #23 budd (Member)

Not loading for me either

04-22-2014 10:50 AM #24 makeitrain (Member)

Same here, but seems to be working for people that never closer their browser from the night before.

04-22-2014 11:43 AM #25 zeno (Administrator)

Looks to be a DNS issue guys - just checked and there seems to be absolutely no records for the domain = browser doesn't know where to go. This is why it will still be working for some as they will have the DNS resolution cached.

Also, if anyone has it working for them they could ping app.decisive.is to find the server IP. Then, to workaround the DNS issues at the moment you could force app.decisive.is to resolve to this IP - to do so go to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and open the file called hosts (no extension), then add the following line to it and save:

123.123.123.123 app.decisive.is

Where the appropriate IP address is there.

I can't find a cached IP listing for app.decisive.is so I can't help more.

04-22-2014 01:18 PM #26 Andrea Decisive (Member)

Zeno is right.

DNS issue. People much more technically savvy than I are working on it right now.

You can subscribe to the status updates if you would like alerts when the interface is operational again. http://status.decisive.is/

Let me see if I can dig up the ip.

04-22-2014 01:47 PM #27 Andrea Decisive (Member)

We're back!

05-09-2014 11:38 AM #28 doppelganger (Member)

I was trying to unpause some campaigns today but have been unable to. If I refresh the page the campaigns are still paused.

If I try to edit a campaign I get the following error:
'$unset' is empty. You must specify a field like so: {$mod: {<field>: ...}}
or
Problem reaching our API, please try again.

The Decisive status page shows all systems operational. Anyone else having issues today?

-Aaron

Hey guys!

We had that bug from about 3am EST to 8am EST.

Everything is good now. No more $unset problems

Great interface, makes pruning ad creatives so much easier! Keep up the great work

Some days the Decisive interface makes me want to throw my computer through a window

I can sit and watch my account balance continue to drop while looking at that stupid "Trying to reach API" message.

06-12-2014 03:02 PM #32 Ramneek Decisive (Member)

Hi Guys! I am Ramneek, and I work at Decisive. We have an API outage, so you can see some sporadic timeouts for a couple of hours.

Please refer to our status page: http://status.decisive.is/ and stay with us!

Sometimes its just seems so time consuming waiting on the data of load, with each variable you want to view, it likes pulling teeth sometimes. I can understand the loading times are slow due to the live nature of the data, but man I would much rather they delay the data by 15-30 minutes, and give use a faster interface.

Looks like several hours of downtime today

06-12-2014 05:06 PM #35 zakariya (Member)

Yup. Problems all day

This is my account now

Same here. API is down.
Just when I created 8 new campaigns yesterday's night LOL.

06-12-2014 07:02 PM #37 Adamw (AMC Alumnus)

Same, here, spoke to a few other people and they are experiencing the same thing.

06-12-2014 07:36 PM #38 trappedinabrowser (Member)

So when the API is down, does that mean our ads aren't getting served or it's just a delay in reporting?

Account balance is dropping? So data is just not coming in?

06-13-2014 09:55 PM #40 stackman (Administrator)

I think data is just delayed..
