Appyboost Ad network Scam

Hi guys!

A few weeks ago we saw a publication on the internet from Paulo Alexandre http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=333208937
from the company Appyboost offering mobile traffic.

We approached him (his Skype name is Paulo Alexandre (paulo35.anexandre)) and agreed to buy an initial amount of traffic for $2500.

We sent him the pre-payment of $2500 and made some tests with him, and we were ready to start the campaigns.

Then he disappeared for about 2 weeks, didn't reply to our emails or skype calls. He didn't start to run any campaign.

As we saw another recent publication by him suggesting to sell mobile traffic, we wrote a comment to it, asking him
to get back to us, to start the campaigns or send us a refund. After about an hour he deleted the post and most of his profile details.

As he still didn't get back to us, we sent him a more aggressive email, to which he got back to.
After some cursing and asking us to "leave him alone", he promised to refund us by weekend,
then he changed his promise to "within a week", and after a week, when we asked for the refund by email,
he replied that he can't refund us at the moment, that "off course he'll try to", and that we can do whatever we want to do about it.

This is the first time we face such a situation. Do you have any advise?

Thanks,
Dani

Any written agreements, I/O, etc. involved or did you just wire transfer $2500 to him in good faith?

Where in the world is he based, and where in the world are you based?

I'd recommend a conversation with a lawyer at this stage. Lawyer's letters are comparatively cheap, and tend to be quite effective in scaring people into refunding this sort of thing. It's probably not worth the full trip to court, but some initial legal overtures may be worth it.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago. I paid 2.5k via paypal to this guy called Anthony giunta (Skype - Anthonyglobalmoblile) from global mobile . He was pushing me to make the payment that week to get the offer they were runing (25% extra imp) then he hardly came online and no replies . I made a complaint on paypal now their funds r frozen and some one else from the company is contacting me asking me to removee it complaint . Fuck them
Not sure what u can so if u send a wire unless they r in the US and u have IO signed from both parties .

Yeah I think a letter from the lawyer gets the job done in most cases.

Talk to a lawyer. Cross-EU legal stuff is a bit of a pain in the ass, but it's doable.
