Rapid Offer Testing Part 2

Ok.

Here is part two.

Its the follow up to this part 1 tutorial

All about testing offers with high volume targets.

Huge apology though!

Its 22m f@ing minutes and I only managed to cover the 1st step - choosing your target and your offers.

But its 4pm now (finally uploaded) and I need to get my shit in order as I'm leaving in 4 hours.

So no time to do references, links, and summary. That will follow.

Ill be back on Wednesday!!

Great video, only found out about ad planner a few months ago and it's a tool that should be used by everyone.

Here's a few links from the video

Thanks everyone for liking this tutorial.

The move went well, although its bloody cold in the UK compared to Phuket.

Ive settled in but was hit yesterday with a facebook ban (doh)./ Als been rectified.

My priority at the moment is to sort out the challenge of making stuff easier to find on the forum so that we dont have so many posts about stuff thats already been answered.

But this is still my next immediate priority after this so I am hopeful I will get to it soon and release part 3 for you all to enjoy!

i've installed cpv lab now on beyondhosting. you mention clicks/sec on volume PPV sites. do i also make sure my landers are on the same VPS server on a different IP address to cpv lab. i.e. where do you set up your lander site in regards to server and CPV lab?

Thanks (untrained newbie)

07-20-2011 02:43 PM #11 tijn (Moderator)

you didnt listen to my warning at the start of this tutorial did you?

this is not a tutorial for newbies.

start with my $30 a day tutorial.

you can keep cpvlab and landers on the same server but different domains.

any update on Part 3?

08-14-2011 10:49 PM #13 w4rl0rdx (Member)

Wondering that as well, is there going to be a part 3?

11-13-2011 07:50 PM #14 alex_b (Member)

bump for part 3?
Whilst still a newb, I threw up a few campaigns for domains with an alexa rank of 1.5k-3k and wondered why it didn't work out (low lander CTR and no conversions direct linking). Did some deep demo-digging etc. but no chance. Part 3 would probably be the answer to my why. For now I'll go back to the 30/day camp + newb guide, though.

To be fair to Tijn, although this thread says 'Tutorial', a better descrption would be GUIDE. By this I highlight the fact that this not a guaranteed path to riches. He generously shares his knowledge and experience so that we may have a starting point for our own experiments. If your inital campaign(s) did not hit your intended goal its back to 'Test, test and then test some more'. Hint: Visual Website Optimizer is the IM's 'weapon of mass distruction'.

Ok, it seems like my English still isn't good enough to avoid such misunderstandings. Neither did I think this tutorial was a guaranteed path to riches, nor did I intend to indicate that it's Tijn's fault that my campaign failed. On that note, I didn't even see this tutorial until after my campaign had failed (after seeing the first part of this tutorial I realized it was just what I had done). With "Part 3 would probably be the answer to my why" I wanted to express that in such a video he would show how it's done the right way and I could then figure out what I did wrong so I wouldn't make the same mistake again.

Thanks for your hint at VWO, though in my case I would have been better off rotating completely different landers first as all sucked balls. Not sure if my reply sounds harsh or not but if it does then again, it is not intended, no hard feelings

No hard feelings experienced at my end. I felt the frustration of your previous posting. We've all been there. It's the harsh reality of the necessary learning process.

I urge you to take another look at the data you gathered. Often when I do tnis for the third or forth time I can see the answer to my problem. This, together with continued testing, can often bring the campaign 'train' back onto the rails.

I wish you every success and look foward to your posting when you report that you found the problem and turned the campaign into profit.

Appreciate your wishes but the offer's EPCs tanked drastically so I've dropped the campaign for good (offer also got pulled now). While I did proper demo research and hand-selected high-traffic URLs, it wasn't enough to achieve a high CTR for my landers. It would require a good-sized budget to rotate through tons of lander angles/variations to find one that actually works but since I'm just starting out I'll rather go back to the newbie guide suggestion of laser targeting particular offers and their according keywords/urls. Gotta get some stable campaings, then I'll definitely be back to this as it has almost unlimited potential for scaling.

11-14-2011 02:54 PM #19 tijn (Moderator)

This with email submits as explained in the newbie guide -> they are a great way to get started and learn nut they are far from stable. The key with email submits are tons of campaigns, test quickly, and reap profits quickly. Especially the more well known branded campaigns. You can have some long runners if you go for a more niche brand/promo or find a unique angle

Any News on Part 3?

thanks for the reminders

Any news on part 3?

We are all paying $100 a month to be on here, it would be good to see this followed up, or maybe a new equivalent tutorial.

01-24-2012 03:29 PM #23 ppchound (Member)

A little harsh Sapper, but you do have a valid point. Loose ends need to be tied off.

03-08-2012 09:34 AM #24 gulftrotter (Member)

Tijn part 3 ? Thks.

03-08-2012 10:00 AM #25 tijn (Moderator)

Oh its my conscious catching up with me...damn

You win!

Sapper -> hope your not paying 100 a month waiting for just this follow up. There is tons of good stuff posted on this forum every day that you can take action on!

Tijn

Tijn,
it was enough for me 2 parts to get my first $400/day :-)
Waiting for part 3, to get into $1000/dayS... ;-)

08-14-2012 12:50 PM #27 tijn (Moderator)

Nice one!

No part 3 in the works. Sorry.

08-16-2012 04:01 AM #28 zeroonedigital (Member)

Why would there even be a need for part 3? Everything is laid out in parts 1 and 2.......... What this method really boils down to is:

1. Pick a URL that has high volume
2. Study the demographics of URL
3. Test a shit load of offers (demographically related or not) using direct link and maybe 1 simple landing page per offer
4. Find the offers that convert and the landing pages that have a decent CTR
5. Optimize your way to profits

You can also do the reverse and find an offer that you know converts, and then find a lot of high volume URLs and test each URL one by one until you find a few that have decent CTRs or conversions. This gets expensive if yo have a lot of URLs, but also the profits can make it worth it!
